Gorgeous boots and a catch up (& Passion 4 Fashion Linkup)

For the longest of time i have wanted the perfect pair of cognac coloured riding boots, not tan, not chocolate, nope.. cognac. Then these beautiful boots from Mozimo landed in my life. My cognac boot quest is over at last and these riding boots now have pride of place in my most loved boots collection.

I went for a simple black, brown, cream outfit for my trip to the hairdressers and as always a pop of red... i just can't resist a pop of red with pretty much any outfit.

It's been a crazy hectic week, i've been at my day job a lot working more days than the norm which always throws me, and then Yosa i'm pleased to say has been super busy with the sale too! (don't forget ladies necklaces from as little as £9, earrings from £5 and scarves from £9 there's some real bargains there!) 

I've also been buying/creating the new Spring range and in talks with some stores selling the Yosa product as part of their range... Which excites me like you wouldn't believe!

 There are some gorgeous new items arriving shortly plus the new range; Simply, by Yosa, which will be very different to the normal Yosa statement necklaces but very very pretty!(sneak peak here)

Its all very exciting and i am loving it, but man oh man, there have been many a night sat at my laptop till gone midnight and that makes me a super sleepy lady today.

And of course there's this blog which will be a forever love of mine, Things have been busy here too, which always makes me happy.

A Special Mother's Day

 I often count my blessings, two in-particular. First that i have such a wonderfully kind, caring and supportive mother who raised me to be a confident young woman who goes for what she wants. I had the best childhood thanks to her. She never ran out of patience with me, she was always there to pick me up after i fell out of another tree or when a boy had let me down. She still is there for me and i am so grateful to her.
I always hoped i would be a mother just like her.
My second blessing is being a mother.
It is safe to say I have never felt love like i do for my son.
It is unconditional.
In the moments after he was born i cried at how much i already loved him. Little did i know that that love would actually grow beyond anything i even could fathom.
Becoming a mother is the most amazing thing i have done, and will ever do.
So it goes without saying that Mothers Day is a day that is dear to my heart.
In my house it means a day of sitting back and enjoying my time with my son (and of course my step children)
So the day will go along the lines of;
My most favourite Joules pyjamas that are both so so pretty and comfy! They also would make the most perfect gift.
Lots of sitting down, relaxing with coffee in hand.
Cuddles-a-plenty with my little boy.
Kisses on tap;)
Beautiful fresh flowers.
I absolutely adore fresh flowers.

Spring Trend Report

At the beginning of any new season i start trawling through the magazines, websites and catalogues to see what key trends are taking the fashion world by storm, and from that what will work for me in my normal day-to-day life and what i will want to add to my wardrobe.
The 70's seems to be the era of revival this season with flares, floppy hats and boho vibes galore.
Paisley firmly taking its place of key print of the season and is seen on anything from dresses, to wide leg trousers and jumpsuits.
Jumpsuits are holding strong again and you can find a number of different styles of jumpsuit, from boilersuit style to strappy and boho. I invested in my first jumpsuit last year, and i'm really looking forward to seeing how i can revive it again this year.
Also leading on from that 70's vibe, Denim is having a a bit of a thing right now also (when is denim not having a thing i ask myself?! Most versatile cloth ever i'd go as far as to say!) with patchwork and flared jeans being on point, i am also very much crushing on Denim Dresses. aka the most easy to wear dresses ever. I think there could quite possibly be a denim dress for every woman, shape, size and taste. Key trends this year are the shirt dress and simple t-shirt shape dress. My absolute favourite is from Espirit(a brand i have recently rediscovered, and super pleased i have, they have a khaki, denim and stripe dress that i'm totally coveting right now!) Its simple v-neck and cuffed sleeves make it the most flattering on me and extremely versatile for remixing, which we all know is super important when it comes to my wardrobe. I imagine this dress working extremely hard for me.
And lastly, the Statement Jacket, also called the car coat, this is the seasons key shape and its all about the print. Whether your jacket has stripes, aztec, floral or oriental pattern it has to be bold!
I'm really looking forward to adding a statement jacket or two to my (already rather large ) coat collection. I love the ease of having a black outfit and then throwing a great statement jacket on and feeling fancy. They add an instant update to an old outfit and perfect for ticking the on trend box.

You know me, i have a thing for coats, and a statement coat can only be a good idea in my books. Question is, which to go for? Stripes, aztec or floral?

This is a must have investment this spring, i am leaning towards the espirit 100% cotton dress for its clean lines and easy to wear/remixability.

I am crushing hard on this paisley blouse, i'm picturing flares, some tan ankle boots and a tan cross body bag to really rock the 70's vibe.

Lilac for Spring with all black and a hint of leopard

Buying with foresight is not something i am usually very good at. You know, when you see something in the sales for super cheap, but its currently the wrong season to wear it, summer clothes in the winter sales; the thought of wearing such floaty, pretty fabric in the depths of winter always, always puts me off buying things. 

But really buying with foresight for something that is cheap now but will come in very useful in the not so distant future is quite a good skill.  

For the first time probably ever, i actually bought this pretty lilac coat in the boxing day sales with Spring in mind. Granted pastels can now be worn in winter and can look glorious year round, but i knew i wanted this beautiful lilac coat for Spring. And being the second day of Spring (officially that is, the temperatures and the sight of snow this morning however makes me think mother nature hasn't got that memo) I thought it would be perfect time to crack out the Lilac coat.

I paired it with an all black ensemble and a killer statement necklace (one of my absolute favourites), finished off with a small hint of leopard with this cute black heel shoes.

I am all about a black base with a hint of colour on top lately, keeping it very simple and easy for daily styling.

The lilac coat is a lovely statement on its own, I'm so pleased i bagged it for a mere £20 in the sales. And yes i know, another coat.. i know no limits when it comes to coats it seems ;)
