Good Bye 2013

Well, i've been a blog slacker as usual and not prepared for the turn of year at all. But having just read lots of your lovely blogs and their 2013 re caps i was feeling inspired to do one too. And i have to say i'm glad i have. Going back through the old archives here at RTH has been eye opening, joyful and inspiring.
If i ever have any doubt to whether i should carry on blogging or not, this here has expelled that. It is so wonderful to look back on what i have been wearing this past year, and not only that what i have been doing, feeling and thinking.
2013 has been a rough year for the Turone household. Starting off the year with loosing everything and starting all over. Its been a tough year but lately hubs and i have reflected on how resilient we are, how tough it has been and yet how far we have come. We are both in agreeance that 2013 was the year that knocked everything back down to rubble and we spent the rest of the year just licking our wounds. 2014 will be our year. We already have so much exciting stuff planned it makes me excited and happy to be here. It makes me appreciate that sometimes you have to go through the bad to then be able to see the good.

So with all the hearty, touchy feely, emotional stuff out the way, here are my fave picks from 2013!!

Its so funny looking back through the year, i can see my wait loss journey begin in the may and meet my target weight in September, which has to be one of my proudest points this year. Wanting to loose weight had been high on my agenda for a while but something i just could not get in the mental head space for. But finally i did it and i'm SO much happier in myself for it. Christmas has seen a few pounds gained but im psyched to start healthy eating again as soon as the New Year rolls in!

I also saw my style change this year. Not tremendously, i blatently still love me a good dress, but with the weight loss came a sense of experimental time with my style. I embraced more skinny jeans and figure hugging clothes which i would never have looked twice at previously.

Im really excited to see where my style will go in 2014! 

Which leads me finally to you guys. You wonderful lot.

I can not express how truly grateful i am for each and everyone of you, for tuning in to this small fry blog, once a week or once a year. For your wonderful comments and support.

But mostly for making this girl feel loved.

Khaki/Black/Tan

You know you've run out of blog titles when you blatantly just start naming the colours in your outfit, amiright?! Maybe its the cold, may be my brains tired, who knows. Either way, i was pretty happy with the simple little outfit.

This outfit is a nice mesh of old(er) pieces and new. I had been after a nice khaki parker for a while but, not actually needing another coat i had put it on the back burner. That was until Eilidh posted that Internacionale had a grand 40% off discount code (which she kindly shared with me! and she had bough the black parker. So, i thought it'd be rude not too right? Turns out its exactly what i was looking for! Its hardly left my back since and was only a fraction of the usual cost.  The zip back sweater was also a fairly recent sale buy from New Look, its casual/smartness was appealing.

And yep, apologies but the coated skinny jeans are back once again.. its just so hard to stay away from them when they add the perfect amount of "edge" to any outfit, hhaaha! :-D 

So things are gaining momentum again over here, its been back to work, all the tasty food has almost all been eaten so we are back to healthy stuff and my blogging routine seems to be somewhat back to normal (lets hope thats not a speaks to soon moment) After a nice break i kinda relish in having my routine back (sort of).

I'm hoping to do a couple of re cap posts from the last year. 2013 saw quite a bit of a style transition for me so could be quite interesting to look back and see it evolve. 

I've also been thinking about making myself some goals. but instead of the general New years resolutions i was thinking more of a 30 before 30 list, because well, Decemeber  2014 sees me turn the big 3-0! (say it aint so!!!)  

I've already started my list but have a few more to go and some more thought to put in, but i would love to share that with you all soon.

So any New Years eve plans folks? We are staying up with the big kids and playing games.. should be fun if last year is anything to go by. (also note to self, do not let hubby be the banker in monopoly..one word..CHEAT!!)

Tartan And Biker (The Christmas Outfit)

Happy Christmassy wishes to one and all!

I hope you've all had wonderful festive times with your loved ones, families and friends.
It was a a really relaxed Christmas in the Turone household and it was just perfect. Presents followed by smoked salmon and bagel breakfast, followed by toy playing, train track building and remote- race car driving, then followed approx 3 hours of non stop eating, it was awesome. The epic Christmas dinner that was unbelievably amazing and a hit with all the family and topped off with dessert,cheese boards, after dinner mints and Panatone meant i was literally full to bursting point. I don't think i've ever felt so stuffed in my life...totally worth it though;)

This is what i wore Christmas day...my Christmas dress! I bought it 4 years ago and each year i bring it out for Christmas day :) its become my little tradition. Nothing says "Christmas outfit" more to me than tartan! When i bought it 4 years ago i just had a baby 4 months prior so now after loosing the weight (finally this year!! my baby is now 3!!it took me a while shall we say) its 2 sizes too big, but on christmas day i'm totally ok with that. Smock dress style means more room for turkey..oh yep!! And thats what i did haha!

Is anyone else finding it hard to get back in to the swing of normal-everyday-life? I go back to work tomorrow and i think reality will hit then, but it has been an amazing week off and such a lovely Christmas.

Black And Mustard

Good day fine folks! Life is been pretty sweet around here, I'm just starting a week off work and it feels so lovely to be home with the loved ones and spending some time together after such a tremendously busy month. With a couple of days left before Christmas i am finally chilling out and soaking up all the lovely festivities. In true Rachel-style(ie leave everything till the last minute) i still have a few little things i need to get but i hope to rectify that tomorrow and then bring on Christmas day... yay!!

 So this outfit comes directly to you from my most re-pinned pin ever. With 325 re pins this outfit seems to be a popular choice on pintrest. I was immediately drawn to it at the beginning of Autumn for its simple but strong outfit qualities. Simple to put together, but great strong colour and impact! Love! Do you have a certain pin on any of your boards that seems to attract a lot of re-pins?

 mama needs a new hat asap... is it too late to request a new black wide brimmed hat, Santa?

 And the coated jeans make another appearance. Leather, faux leather and coated jeans have most definitely been my choice of clothing this season, without a shadow of a doubt. I can always manage to put some kind of outfit together with one of those items. I'm still crushing on these jeans which makes me happy i took the chance on a different for me piece and bought them a couple of months back. I still have a ton of remixing ways for them;)

 So are you all ready for the big day? We did our gigantic food shop today and now my cupboards and fridge is filled with amazing foods and goodies, its taking all of my will power not to eat them all right now (whilst watching Supernatural and blogging of course!) Maybe just a sneaky choccy or cookie or two, its practically Christmas, right?

I love all forms of getting dressed from day dressing for a bit of shopping, to an evening out and drinks, to a cosy sunday afternoon.

But hey such is life i guess. Lately blogging has been put a bit on the backburner i guess. I have been busy busy and enjoying getting festive. On Sunday we had a lovely day baking Christmas cookies, watching Elf and Love Actually and writing Christmas cards, all combined with lots of snuggles with my boy and lots of yummy food.
Then there has been the older kids Christmas play and tomorrow is my works christmas doo which means i get to play dress up and don a sparkly dress and drink some champers!
