I have severe writers block today. The blockage could actually be snot and general cold ickiness (eugh that's a great opening sentence for a blog isn't it.. high fives go to me for including snot in there) But yes i have been hit with the most horrendous cold for the second time in the space of a few weeks. I am obviously perfect fodder for icky bugs and they all seem to be flocking to me right now.

So with that i shall let the passion for fashion link up do the talking. Drop waist dress and a Duster Jacket

The past bank holiday brought some glorious sunshine! The legs got an airing and a dress was donned. This sweet little drop waist, grid print dress was a purchase from way back last year (possible autumn time?) and this is its first outing on the blog. It was tucked away far back in the wardrobe where things get forgotten. I was rummaging looking for something nice to wear on this spring day and there it was begging to be worn. I am so so ready for the #100daysnospend to be over.. which my lovely co-no-spenders inform me is actually this Saturday! woohhoooooo! I am so so ready to shop (but more on that later this week) and have a rather nicely curated list of things i must buy once the no spend finishes.

So whilst rummaging amongst the knitwear and the chunky coats i got to wondering,

  Is it time to do the winter-spring/summer wardrobe switch?

Project Sister Act: That 70's Show (& #Passion4FashionLinkup )

 Today i am pleased to be part of Project Sister Act. A movement created by Sheela of Sheela Writes for ladies of all ages to express themselves with a common thread. It is to show that whether you are in your teens, 50's or older, you can wear whatever you want.
This is something i feel very strongly about. Style is ageless. As long as you wear something with confidence and happiness age is irrelevant.
I had a conversation recently with a friend who has just hit 40. After loosing a substantial amount of weight and feeling great about her new figure i suggested she tried coated skinny jeans (my bff of the jeans world). She said she daren't and couldn't even contemplate the idea purely because of her age.
I can not stress enough AGE IS JUST A NUMBER!!
It does not define you.
Try something that might be out of your comfort zone even if you feel like "it's too young for you". I promise you, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Granted i'm not saying all should run out in mini skirt, stilettos and crop tops, i'm purely saying don't let an outmoded way of thinking stop you from trying something that could be fabulous.
Project Sister Act is a wonderful way to show woman from the age groups teens, 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's all rock a style in their very own way.
Today me and some wonderful ladies are trialling the very in style 70's trend.
I opted for some simple pieces that i already had in my wardrobe.
Nothing screams 70's more to me than floppy hats and flares. I added in a crisp white shirt to stop it looking costumey and my gilet for a full on 70's fun fest.

2 accessories remixed 5 ways with McArthur Glen

As i mentioned in yesterdays post i recently had the absolute pleasure of a shopping trip to my local McArthur Glen. 

The challenge that was set to us;

2 accessories styled 5 ways.

With that in mind whilst perusing the gorgeous designer shops i knew that i wanted 2 pieces that would work well with multiple outfits. 

The other thing that was on my mind whilst shopping, was how McArthur Glen makes great Designer brands like Fossil, Radley and Kurt Geiger more accessible for all. An investment now costs even less when you have a designer outlet to shop at. Which is great for people,like me, who like to save £££ wherever possible.

So with my accessories i played it safe  went the classic route of a great tan bag and heels. 

I have been crushing on black and grey all winter long, it was about time i turn to my all time favourite accessory colour and see what it can do for me.

There really is something to be said for buying two great pieces that will work hard for you and yet make getting dressed easier.

This Carvela by Kurt Geiger bag and French connection heels do just that.

With a little Red Dress

We all know how much i love red and this French Connection dress is an absolute dream. I'm imagining cocktails, in the sunshine, with the girls in this little ensemble.

The Casual weekender
Khaki is my go to colour this spring i can not get enough! The khaki trousers are slouchy and so comfy, i added in a slogan tee and my denim jacket for the perfect weekender outfit.

Boho Summer 
I kinda wanted to try all different ways of wearing the heels and bag; with trousers, a dress and a skirt. I threw this outfit together last minute as my skirt option, but it actually became one of my favorites. Mixing black and tan is always a winning combination, add in the rich wine colour and the kimono and a fun boho-look is created perfect for spring and summer.

Smart in Palazzo Trousers and a Crop Top

Loving my new palazzo trousers and utilising the ability to wear crop tops... even better that it's striped! Black, white and tan is one of those combinations that never gets old.

add in a puppy and you have the perfect accessories any outfit could have!

Jeans and Jumper

Another of my favourites, i have lived in this outfit lately. This Gap jumper is perfect spring wear, layered with my navy trench and paired with my ripped jeans. The tan accessories  really pop against the navy and white.
