The Brit Pack Presents: the Pastel Parade

This month us Ladies of the Brit Pack are uniting and showing off a parade of Pastels!
When i first put this out to the girls as this months theme i kinda shot myself in the foot. You see until recently i was really not a pastel type girl. I was ALL about the brights and felt pastels to be wishy washy compared to the strong colours that dominated my wardrobe. Then the more pastels i saw the more i liked, their subtly sugary tones are sweet and pretty. Problem is with the #100spendingban still in full swing i couldn't exactly run out and purchase some pastel products. Nope i had to make do. But thankfully making do meant wearing this baby blue beautiful long-line cardigan that i recently received from Front Row Shop. I have been wearing it pretty much non stop on my day off/jeans days. Its perfect in this spring weather we've been having.

I also couldn't wait to where my patch jeans again, they have become a firm favourite since they first graced my legs only to be removed for washing and then safely back on again.
I have to say i am really excited about adding some more pastels to my wardrobe in 28 days time (!!)

Now for some more pastels prettiness be sure to check out my fellow Brit Pack ladies below, who have a plethora of pastels for you today.

#FrockSwapUK: Ranch Style

Can you believe these blue skies? Seriously wonderful here in the UK right now... not to sound like the voice of doom but apparently its going to change here back to grey and rain on Wednesday (yes i study the weather forecasts like you wouldn't believe.. i should have been a weather girl i tell you! that would have been cooool!)
So for now i am lapping up every single second of this beautiful sunshine.

This  lovely blouse and necklace are the things i received from the wonderful Erica in our first round of #FrockSwapUK. You can see Erica's original post HERE! I actually loved how Erica styled it, with the little black mini and denim jacket, and if this lovely blouse was staying with me a bit longer i would have styled it the a la Erica. But alas, this swapping malarkey is bitter-sweet as the goods have now been sent on to Donna and then they will make their way on to Debbie
I'm looking forward to seeing how the girls style it up too.
Another parcel of goodies arrived on my doorstep this week, so i am very excited to get creative with some pieces that i probably would not have bought... It's going to be interesting!

I like to call this look Ranch style, maybe it's the setting (which fyi isn't a ranch, just a road side lol!) Maybe its the little checked blouse tied with the dark jeans and the leather jacket, just need me some chaps and a bit of fringing and i could go rodeo style...yeehhaww! heehhee.
I have to say i am enjoying adding more blouses to my collection (more when the shopping ban ends... 31 days people!!) i just love remixing them with skirts, jeans or layered. They make for some good remixing which i am alll about right now.
I've gone from a wardrobe filled with just dresses to lots of versatile pieces.
Remixing is my new groove.
Are you a blouse/ shirt person?

Red Dress, Bare legs (& Passion4Fashion Link Up!)

So for the last week the Uk has been basking in some beautiful spring weather. Blue skies with the odd cotton wool cloud sure makes for some happy Brits.  These photos were actually taken last Sunday and the warmth was *almost* there enough to go bare legged. I braved it for the photos but then nipped home and put the pasty white legs bag into hibernation under a pair of tights, heehee! I have to say feeling a breeze on the old legs sure felt exhilarating, a wee taste of things to come, sunshiny warm days.
Just lovely!

This dress was my last purchase on the Sunday before the 100 day shopping ban commenced on Monday 6th Jan. It was kind of a rash purchase in a panicked "i'm not going to be shopping for 100 days, gimme all the new stuff i can get my hands on now" frenzy, but thankfully i still love it, admittedly this is the first time i'm actually wearing it, over 2 months on, but i think i was saving it for Spring, i guess it just feels perfect for sunny days. I also managed to squeeze in more wear of the beautiful George biker jacket before sending it on its way for #FrockSwapUK, as much as i will miss it for now, i cant wait to see how the girls will style it!

Brand Crush: Zara

Spring with Zara

Zara surplice dress / Zara oversized top / Zara blouse / Zara pink coat / Zara jeans / Zara print skirt / Zara sandals / Zara pointed shoes / Zara purse / Zara purse / Zara geometric necklace / Zara hat / Zara chain belt

I know i'm a little late to the game on this one. Hell, most "fashion bloggers" have a wardrobe filled with Zara pieces. But only now am i seeing Zara for the wonderful brand it is.
Take the new S/S14 range.. perfect yellows and pastels with interjections of blue. It's pretty awesome.
Over the course of a few weeks i found i had pinned most of these pieces individually, but when put all together they make the most fabulous Spring capsule wardrobe, don't you think? Perfectly encapsulating casual weekends, drinks with the girls or a fancy occasion. All in a matter of 13 items.. not bad right?

Is there a brand you're currently crushing on?

Ps Passion for Fashion is on tomorrow, don't forget to come by and link your fabulous self up!
