I am in fully fledged love with all things autumnal. The weather is cooling off just nicely making me long for stew, knitwear and long brisk walks, clichéd as they come.. yep thats me, but its just so so delicious this time of year.

This week around the web i have been loving:

01. Baked Gnocchi and Kale yum yum. Salvatore (that's my hubby) is a vegetarian, which means 98% of the time i eat vegetarian meals too. I'm trying to get some more recipes in my repertoire as i kind of have the same meals on constant rotation. This was so delicious.. looking forward to making some tweaks and cooking it again.

0.2 A new autumn bag.. I have my eyes on one of these. The colour way of choice is Port, how very autumnal. I really love Rebecca Minkoff bags, they're a great price for a designer bag, what d'you think?

0.3 This dress... I have a bit of a doo coming up (more on that soon), it'll be a lovely meal with friends and cocktails.. so this dress i think will be perfect with a black blazer and booties for that, but then thick tights and a chunky cardigan for winter.

0.4 Speaking of Booties, Kat of Does My Bum Look 40 got me on to these Wallis boots.. which i think would be perfect for my night out with the above dress.. hello fabulous tassels!

0.5 From the sublime heel to the comfy trainer.. I am just about to order myself a pair of these or maybe these?? I can't decide.. help a girl out, which trainers d'you think i should go for? Its bizarre as i wasn't that keen on the NB trend at all but as time has gone on they have majorly grown on me. Plus as a constant dog walker these tick so many boxes for me. Practical, trendy and super comfy.. Now which ones shall i get, help??

06. Angie at Reasons To Dress. I love to binge read her blog. She is just wonderful and i love seeing snippets of their Italian life, whether that be style, food or days out. Man do i hope to meet that girl some day (preferably in Italy.. oh how i love Italy!)

0.7 I have tried SO many of the at home gel nail polishes, but none have really lasted any longer than a normal polish for me. Its worth mentioning here i am VERY heavy handed and super clumsy. Its unfortunate as its always my freshly painted nails that get the brunt of it. But so far out of all i've trialled (Barry M, Sally Hansen, Sensationail) This Revlon product worked the best on me. Its actually superb. It lasted me 6 days which is unheard of for me. The formula isn't my favourite for application (quite runny) but longevity is a major plus point for me. Also great colour range too(my fave being the one above)

Aww i have to say i love writing these. I feel like i'm sitting down having a natter with you all.
So lets not make this a one sided conversation shall we.

I need a girlfriends advice (i asked hubby and he said they look the same.. now you know why i need your help!!) I'm definitely making a purchase tonight.. who knew trainers/sneakers could be so exciting, haha!

Okay, i have a confession. As the years go by i find myself reaching more and more for flats, and now its gotten to the point where my feet have started to rebel against extreme heel wearing. I can go a few hours in heels, and i admit, i have a few beautiful pairs that i shall never give up, but after a while my tootsies start to ache.

Cue the best invention ever made: Butterfly Twists.

Butterfly twists are the fold up shoes that you can carry around in your bag to give your feet the relief they need.

To be honest i don't just use them as a stand by shoe, i wear mine out shopping and general day to day wear. They're just too lovely to be on the reserve bench, even if the reserve does get called in often when the heels are on the pitch (its rugby season, it must be infiltrating my lingo!)

This is actually my second pair of Butterfly Twists. I had another pair of leopard print too( remeber this post? And woah hair transformation! I should really blog about that at some point, shouldn't i?) but i wore those babies literally in to the ground.

Upgraded and ready to go i have a pair of the Premium Leah in the lovely leopard print, to see me through life now, ain't life grand in flats? i'm fully embracing flats and happily giving my feet the comfort they need when they need it (lordy, next i'll be donning slippers and calling it fashion.

Lets talk Flares

Wearing River island Mid wash Brooke Flare

Years ago i loved me some flares, skinny jeans weren't my thing at all, bootcut where just meh but flares were for me. But then i discovered an ankle grazer skinny jean that could be easily worn with boots and were weather appropriate through winter (flares + rain= major soggy mess)
So i stepped away from the flare for a long while, opting for ease of wear with my comfy skinnies.
But i have to say this past month has seen me fall back in love with the flared jean. Why you ask? Well let me tell you: Firstly they are uber flattering. Being a pear shaped lady (heavier on my bottom half) they help even me out, hips look evenly proportioned against the flared hem line, where skinnies can often emphasise my larger area (those mean ol' thighs).
Secondly, they can be dressed up or down, and i know skinny jeans can too, but i do think that a dark indigo or black flare can look really smart. Add a blazer or biker and they look awesome.
And finally, they are a great nod to the 70's trend that's everywhere this season.
But regardless of trends i think i will be keeping flares in my jeans armoury for some time as they just make me feel pretty awesome.
With that in mind i've been scouring to see what the world wide web has to offer so i can add another pair, because obvs, one isn't enough is it ;-)

Actually starting with my favourite here. MiH are renowned for having some of the best flares on the market and i can see why (more here.. check those babies out.. so so good!)

These are exactly what i'm looking for, dark black, mid rise with just the right amount of flare. LOVE. Styled, like above, with a biker jacket looks gorgeous, but with a blanket wrap, or chunky cardigan these look like they could be a firm staple for me.

Not gunna lie, i love everything this brand does. You can get it via Shopbop , which fyi they do free international shipping, i've had an account for years, i remember i first bought a pair of Ditto flared jeans (co-incidentally) from them in about 2007.. the flared loved has now continued! But yes back to Joie.. these are the Enchante Flare Jeans and they are beautiful. Lovely indigo with front pocket details. love the styling too.. i need the grey chunky knit now too, darn it.

Now you know what shopping for jeans is like (like sticking pins in my eyes if i'm honest) Its up there with swimwear/underwear shopping for me. A minefield of sizes that never quite measure up against each other, different from one shop to the next. But River Island jeans i know. They fit me and my shape incredibly well. I ahve the distressed RI flares but i think maybe the black could be my next purchase. Plus reform meaning, bounces back, which is always a good thing with my backside shoehorned in to them, heehee.

Now i really like the look of these too (oh lord i could end up with about 6 pairs at this rate, all in the name of research of course,ahem. Blogging is dangerous I tell you!
The only thing that for me, personally, may not be quite right is the low rise, they don't look particularly low in the photo, but after baby comes high rise. High rise is my jean saviour, but great price point and love the super flare.

So there we have it, my favourites so far. I shall report back with my findings once i've decided which pair to go for.

Boho with Boohoo

 Its weird, i've tried to not buy in to the whole '70's boho style, opting (or trying i should say) for a more minimal, less patterned monochrome look.
But, i just can't help myself, I get drawn back in to he beautiful paisley prints and rich colours every time.
The textures and patterns are just loveable and so easy to wear. Plus that 70's boho style transitions so smoothly through each season, how many trends do you know that do that? I can't think of many.
So full on 70's style, I am embracing the boho trend (Farrah Fawcett hair and all ;).
Suede is doing the rounds this winter in a major way and the Boohoo Suede collection is absolutely fantastic.

Think coats trousers you name it and there will be an item of it in suede.
(Quick side note, remember the M&S suede midi skirt that was everywhere at the end of summer at a cost of £199, well look at this one.. oh yes!! £20 and it looks amazing!)
If like me you're not sure about a full on suede ensemble, you can dabble easily with the trend with an accessory, like this gorgeous bag.
Tassels, burgundy and suede.. could i love it any-more? (The answer there is no, no i couldn't).
Its amazing.
Paired with some flares and paisley i am totally in hippy happy boho zone without feeling like i'm off to a fancy dress party. I love how the black duster jacket also kind of tones the look down, less in your face more subtle 70's. Perfect for day to day wear.
