Undergarments

Since embarking on my less is more approach with the #RtHCapsuleWardrobe and absolutely loving its simplicity and spending less, I have made a concious effort in other areas.
Other areas such as undergarments.
In my twenties I lived in miss-matched Primark £1 special pants, which lets me honest after a couple of washes are diabolical.
My new streamlined wardrobe of quality pieces is a delight to open each morning.
My underwear drawer however left much to be desired.
I was recently informed that a new brand to the UK had come to Selfridges.
Silent Assembly is an acclaimed brand for comfort and style due to their pioneering alternative to metal under-wires.
The innovative 3D rib contour means that these bra's are the most comfort your boobs could feel.
I can't tell you how many times I've had that uncomfortable feeling of the under-wire sticking in my boobs/ribs/chestplate.
As a *ahem* small chested person (read: fried eggs) under-wires often sit awkwardly on me.
When I first wore the Silent Assembly bra it was honestly like clouds floating gently but supportively around my breasticles.
Normally by the end of the day I am happy to discard of the boob-holder, but the Silent Assembly was so comfy, I actually forgot i had it on. When wearing it I'm not longer desperate for the end of the day to take it off, which is remarkable for a a bra hater and serial discarder.

A had the pleasure of having a rather rare date night with Salvatore on the weekend, which was lovely and well overdue. A night together, Mexican food, a few glasses of rose and no interruptions was just sheer bliss. I knew I wanted to make a little effort, as I kinda love that man of mine, so I grabbed my newest dress, the khaki version of the Lola dress (I have the abstract print here, which i banged on about for weeks) which I had in my capsule wardrobe. I haven't included anything super dressy in my capsule as my life doesn't tend to call for it. But this dress was perfect for a relaxed meal out together.
I paired it with my beloved biker jacket and ankle boots and a new Yosa tassel necklace that I'm besotted with

If you spend copious amounts of time on your phone like me, then this amazing HButler Bag is about to become a life saver. Discreetly inside is a power-bank for your phone (of which it can charge any smart phone as it has all adaptors), it can be left in the bag or removed (and recharged of course). What I loved is that it was so slim it doesn't effect the appearance of the bag at all... I mean its a gorgeous leopard print bag regardless, but with the power-bank too? Well talk about genius!
My phone has so much stuff on it now ( I know I know, I desperately need to clean it), plus I'm one of those annoying people who has it constantly attached to her hand, so by 3pm the charge is on its way out. This little bag produced enough to keep my phone going all evening.
Its really makes my phone habits a lot easier knowing I have some charge if i need it is a complete dream. Gone are the days of having a flat battery ;)
Plus the bag is really gorgeous.

So there we have a little date night look from my capsule wardrobe.
I'm very much looking forward to styling this dress with bare legs and my Stan smiths or better yet, some nice sandals.

The Classics

When I started thinking about putting my own capsule together I knew it would be filled with the classics. Classics are something I shunned in my twenties, opting for loud and and patterned every time, which was fun.

But over the past couple of years I have definitely found a new appreciation for the classics. Bizarrely, when I was 17 I remember my favourite outfit being a leather jacket, a plain white tee, my best jeans and a pair of Adidas trainers that I had fiercely saved my weekend job wages for.

So it appears I've reverted back to my 17 year old self's style.

I like to think I've added in a few nice pieces, but it really does show a case in point, that even 14 years later, some styles just don't age.

They are classics.

Now in my thirties I am the most happy I have ever been with my wardrobe as I have filled it with some pretty decent classics which make up the backbone of my daily wears.

The new addition to my capsule was this trench coat.

I mentioned that I had to replace the Trench I started my capsule with due to it being a tad tight and me splitting the lining. It was given to me by a friend and never cost a penny so it did me well thus far.

But with it being in my capsule I knew it was going to get a lot of wear over the following months.

And thankfully I had a credit note for H&M; anyone else forget to send stuff back in the month allowance? Yeh.. my bad, but this time it worked in my favour at least, I found this beautiful neutral trench for exactly the amount I had on my credit note.

Talk about meant to be.

The length is perfect for me as it actually falls to the knee rather than an unflattering mid-thigh (my chunkiest area that should be disguised at all costs ;), the colour is the perfect neutral and the tie belt is my personal preference rather than an annoying buckle.

Happy trench wearing days.

I think its safe to say Stan Smiths are now classics don't you?

The Perfect Denim Dress (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

So the first official outfit from my capsule (if you haven't seen it yet, check out the full low down here) And its possibly my favourite item from my whole capsule.
The denim dress of my dreams finally materialised. Not too long, not too short. Substantial fabric but stretchy too, and the perfect indigo denim.
As I was just starting on curating my Capsule at the time but knew this dress most definitely had a pace within it.
Its cut beautifully and the fit is perfection. I had so many compliments that day on the dress that now all i want to wear is this very dress.
Its simple in itself but so easy to accesorise. This is the thing about great basics, and what my capsule is made up of, add in a couple of flourishes with a neck tie and large sunnies and the look is instantly updated. I have great plans for this dress, and plan on wearing it a lot!
