EBEW: Preppy Pastels

Hello lovelies.. is the week treating you well so far?

This month Everybody Everywhere chose PASTELS. When pastels first came out in abundance this spring i was not keen. I'm more a brights kinda gal. colour blocking, floral brights. But as the months have gone on pretty hues of pastel pinks and mints and soft blues have grown on me. I kinda like them. Its a step outside of my normal "go to" outfits also so that was quite refreshing!

My regular photographer (hubby) seems to have come down with what Neo has (needless to say my house is FUN at the mo ;) So my lovely mum snapped these quickly for me just before i popped to the pharmacy to pick up some much need medicine for the poorly boys.

Anyway, what do you think of pastels? Are you a fan?
And it looks like my rut may have passed!! not blue, red or white in sight!

Take Care all
Here's a plethora of pastel pretties for you to view!

Ps thank you all as always, for your lovely comments. Neo is a bit better today and seems to be finally on the mend. And also thank you for your lovely words about my blue/red/white issues. You guys are the best!

White, Red and Blue Rut

Hello ladies,

how was your easter? Did you eat your weight in sweet goods? I refrained from over indulging as i'm trying really hard to loose a few pounds before summer. So far so good. I've been getting my sit ups and press ups on too!  I may fall off this wagon again but i'm enjoying it at the moment!

Ok so i have to tell you something i am in a major style rut!! Seriously! i've been laying awake in bed thinking what the hell am i going to wear (and blatantly putting waaayy to much thought in to it!)
Have you ever just stood in front of your wardrobe and gazed blankley in to it thinking "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!" when obviously the wardrobe is full to bursting point and yet i can still not from a cognitive outfit. All my outfits i put together lately are red, white and blue! i cant get out of those colours.
So after a little thinking and playing dress up in my own clothes i managed to add yellow into the mix. so now i'm obsessed with blue, red, white AND yellow.. i need some intervention and inspiration!

Put for now here's some more red white and blue!

"neo do you like mummy's dress?"

".... yes Mummy but you need your bag too!"

"now lets goooooooo!"
Dress under jumper: old... New look
Jumper: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Hush Puppies via Very
Bag: Matalan
Brooch & hairband :  Sunshine & Carousels via Etsy

Poor Neo has been soooo poorly, these pics were taken last week. He seems to have gastroenteritis, so a doc's trip for us tomorrow. I hate seeing him so ill, he's such a healthy kid and this is just knocked the wind out his little sails. I just want to make him better. But needless to say there has been no fabulous outfits here as this mama is on constant poop alert (lol, sorry!)

Anyway, i hope you are all having a nice bank holiday Monday and i will see you all soon!

Guest Post: Jessi from Haircut and General Attitude

Hey Lovelies, as i mentioned earlier on this week i'm a bit
pre-occupied this weekend. We were planning on the family trip to see the in-laws in London but turns out Neo has come down with a nasty tummy bug..
Thankfully the lovely Jessi offered to guest post for me, she's gorgeous and has amazing style. Go check her blog for more, but for now, here's a little taster of that fabulousness.

Hello, friends! This is Jessi from Haircut and General Attitude!  I'm so so honored to be guest posting for Rachel today! I love her super cute style! We have pretty similar taste. I love all things vintage and girly so her blog was a quick favorite for me.
Where I live the weather has been sunny and happy lately! Spring is definitely here and we have beautiful trees blossoming all around! Perfect for pretty photos!
I had my cute hubby snap these on a nearby street in our neighborhood. He was more embarrassed than me at the cars driving by...haha.
I'm wearing some of my current favorite things (obsessions), lace, long skirts, mustard and wedges. I also want to brag a little that I made the bracelet I'm wearing. Maybe some of you are excessively crafty but it's quite the accomplishment for me!
Is everyone excited for Easter weekend? I know I  am! I hope the weather stays so warm and gorgeous! I'll be headed to the mall Saturday for an afternoon of shopping and Sunday will be spent coloring eggs with the hubby and having dinner with my family. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend! And thank you Rachel for the wonderful opportunity!
Outfit Details:

mustard skirt - Urban Wear
lace-up wedges - Forever Young Shoes
bracelet - Handmade

Thanks again Jessi!
Loving this outfit.

Happy Easter to you all, hope you have amazing weekends and i will be back soon!

Lego Lady

Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday to you.. i'm running so late today, normally i like to post at lunch time whilst Neo sleeps, but i'm still mid spring clean and so its consuming every minute when i'm not watching the little guy.
The epic wardrobe clear out has gone well! i'm so pleased, i feel less cluttered and i only have the clothes now that i truly love and wanted to keep. I also realised a few things whilst doing the sort out.
I had 63 belts! 63 for crying out loud! who needs 63 belts?! and that doesn't even include the ones already on dresses in my wardrobe. i had 6 red belts,  a few other random colours and then the rest were shades of tan. And d'you know what i really struggled to get rid of them! Ridiculous i know.
I also own a hellova lot of cardi's. Cardigans are an integral part of my life. And lastly i have approximately one thousand pairs of tights, mostly navy and black.
So i've finished the wardrobe and there are 5 bags for charity and a huge box load i'm gunna ebay. The de cluttering has made me think that anything i buy from now on has to be really something special that adds to what i have... we'll see how long that lasts though ;-)

Now i mentioned on Friday that our good friend was throwing her sons a Lego themed party. The invite said wear lego colours if poss. It was aimed at the kids but i do love me a theme!

Yellow Top & Red Converse : Next
Green Cardi: George (asda)
Blue Jeans: Tesco
Necklace: Super old
Brooch:Sunshine and Carousels

I kinda LOVE this outfit. Probably why i'm grinning like a cheshire cat in these pics.
Lego party or not i'd totally wear this again. The bright colours make me smile and the added kitsch-ness of the red necklace and brooch gives it a massive thumbs up from me and apparently my step daughter too, she thought this outfit was fab. Two thumbs up!
Also, I've been honing in on lots of bloggers wearing cons lately and taking inspiration from the outfits they make with them. Chucks are an integral part of my wardrobe. As a mama there are lots of days in parks and play gyms etc and sometimes the heels just don't cut it...

Ok folks, i hate to love you and leave you so abruptly but hubby has just told me we have Game of Thrones awaiting us on sky plus! Oh my giddy aunt i'm excited! did you watch the first series? What a spectacular show!

Will be back super soon, do you have nice plans for the week? Its a short one work wise, woop woop!!

Take care all

Ps excuse my roots in these pics, a mixture of the light and my natural  mousy brown colour (plus some annoying greys)  made me kinda look like a badger. i was tempted to call the post Lego Badger, but resisted. I'm so lazy... must go dye hair, maybe after Game of Thrones! ;-)

PPS: Is anyone available/interested in doing a guest post for me for friday/saturday this week?
We have an impending trip to London for easter which means i will be away from my beloved laptop.
If you're interested drop me an email: rachelturone@gmail.com
