Baby Blue and Red: A great colour combination to try

I put this colour combination together recently and fell in love. Something about the pale blue and the red that actually really works. The pale of the blue and the bold of the red acts as a great contrast and is a nice alternative to other neutrals. This is a basic jeans and a jumper look but there's something about adding in little bits of interest to make it less of a boring run of the mill outfit.

 THE COAT

Red coat of dreams that keeps on giving. I flippin' love it. I wear it so many times a week. Instant perk you up in a coat and is a dreamy shade of red, and of course is the colour of the season without a doubt. 

What you can't see in these photos is that it has a boucle texture to it which means it looks smart and feels cosy too.

 JEANS

I paired it with my favourite jeans which are a new addition. I've sorta of quit skinny jeans these past 6 months, i just don't feel comfortable in them any more. I don't like how they look on my pear shaped figure, on my ample hips and thighs for me they're just not flattering. The mom jean and the straight leg is where its at for me at the moment, and since i bought these Topshop Moto jeans i have been living in them. Theyre a true denim (so not much stretch) but they are comfy because they aren't clingy like a skinny jean. There's something about the silhouette they create that i'm really enjoying right now.

 THE JUMPER

Oh the jumper.. pale blue isn't a colour i've gravitated towards before, but i saw this and just thought it could work incredibly well with a lot of other items i own. Like i mentioned it acts as a great neutral but with interest. The pearls on the sleeves are such a great little adornment and add the perfect bit of interest to a normal jumper and jeans look.

 FINISHING TOUCHES

I finished the look with some statement earrings, the blue tonal baubles add in another bit of interest, and the navy comfy sock boots are seriously some of the comfiest boots i've ever owned. The style of sock boots sits perfectly with this style of jeans and the point of the boot adds elegance. The kitten heel means these are perfect day wear boots, and i have worn them from 8am till 9pm at night without one single grumble. Oh how i love a comfy boot!

Gingham Dress with Yellow Shoes

It took me a while to jump on the gingham train. I think it may be because it reminds me of my early blogging days when i was majorly in to retro 60's styles and i was very 'twee' for a long time (if you want a laugh and see me literally growing up through my twenties on the internet check out my cringe worthy archives!.. shudder..😂). But there's still a place in my heart for the checked, gingham print, and it really can work and be a useful little number.

I hope this will represent a slightly more grown up take on gingham but still rather fun.

This dress was originally bought for a Social Brunch Meetup, which it would have worked perfect for, but sadly the ol' British weather decided it was not meant to be as it was rainy and chilly on the day (so i went for the red jumpsuit instead), but it turns out that the dress could be useful for a number of occasions. I wore it for an evening out last week to see Grease Live in Cardiff and drinks in the bay, it was lovely and light and comfy to be sat down all evening in too. 

I'm thinking paired with some tan sandals this would work great for even just a day at the shops, or add some red block heels and perfect for an evening out.

The neutral colour means its pretty much is a blank canvas when it comes to mixing in accessories, which is great as it will allow lots of remixing potential.

Also did i mention? Tremendously comfy. Light and floaty can do no wrong in my dress loving eyes.

Floral Shirts & Hot Pink Shoes (An outfit for in-betweeny weather)

Happy Monday Folks! 

Firstly.. I know.. And outfit post on a Monday.. what is this, 2012, when i actually used to post outfit posts 2-3 a week? Well no, you see I made a conscious decision this past week that I will be posting outfit photos every Monday and every Friday. You see, I appear to have gotten lazy on the old picture taking front and have fallen in to daily snaps on the phone for Instagram (which i do of course love), but i realised, by doing that i seem to have neglected this space a little. 

So i shall be kicking my lazy arse back in to more outfit pictures here for the blog. I'm hoping most of the time they will be with the DSLR with Salvatore taking them, but sometimes they may just be phone pictures with my timer and tripod, which i hope you won't mind a little amateur style now and again ;)

But yes, Monday and Friday I do hope you'll join me here for light hearted banter and outfits.

And so, on to today's outfit. This is the kind of outfit for those in-between summery cold days, y'know, the ones we have a lot here in the UK. The month may say its Spring/Summer but the weather decides to keep us on our toes with cool temperatures and rain.

A few weeks ago i wanted to purchase a few nice tops for just those types of days. I wanted something a bit more fun that black and white so went hunting some florals down.

Now, i am not a fan of too much frou-frou, frilly, busy tops, but this one immediately caught my eye.

I love the frill detail to the shoulder, its interesting without being 'Too Much' and the floral pattern is super pretty with a lovely array of colours to open up lots of remixing potential.

I really love the idea of remixing this tucked in to a pleated midi skirt and also with some faux leather trousers come autumn. 

For today I've paired it with some skinny jeans in a dark indigo(which i always feel looks quite a smart colour for jeans) and my gorgeous Raspberry Pink Shoes from Lotus Shoes.

Can we all just take a moment for the shoes??

Darling aren't they?  These are The Briars Shoe, which come in a gorgeous array of colours. They are the perfect heel height to add a little leg lengthening powers but also supremely comfy. I can not wait to wear them again, and now i also want the orange oh and the swan grey colour, and well the navy.. Lets just say they're all amazing.

Remember i mentioned the other day that i was actually in work doing really boring stuff. Well this was what i wore on that boring day, and i was going to say that its quite a boring outfit, for me. No brooches, bangles or bells;) just simple preppy style. I've been wearing this a lot lately. In-fact i've been living in these jeans and this blazer on and off all week. yesterday we had an appointment at the vets (Holly has a bady eye,bless her) and i swapped out the shirt for a simple red and white Breton top.
I think i've been craving me some simplicity. Life around us lately is pretty stressy and crazy so i think i've gone super simple with my clothing. And i've enjoyed it, a lot!
These brogues are now well and truly worn in and feel like slippers, i really wanna wear them with some cute dresses and tights to see if i can work that re mix... any suggestions for what to wear with Brogues?

As much as i enjoyed this, i've also been planning some major colour mixing ensembles, coming to a blog post real soon!
Right ladies, i'm off , got a humongous amount of work to do today, with the possibility of the in laws coming this weekend, some new business ventures to look in to and a huge mess to clean. On top of that i have the mother of all mother headaches... nice! Wish me luck...

Kissy Kissy

Hello lovelies, and how are we? Good, yes?
Well Mondays rolled round once again as quick as ever!
I managed to get out this weekend to Hobbycraft to stock up on some bits that i need for some crafty plans. Last night i went to bed and crafty goodness was whirling round and round in that lil brain of mine and i'm feeling totally inspired right now! I just want to get my teeth in to a good productive project or two. I'm looking forward to autumn coming by and picking up where i left off last year on the crochet and knitting front too, for some reason these seem like winter sports to me. Summer i just cant seem to pick up those needles. Strange...
I've never been a crafty gal so im really enjoying these new skills im picking up along the way and new hobbies to entertain my over active mind. Only problem is, finding time. I dont even know where im supposed to pluck that from?! Answers on a postcard...please!?!

So again this is mostly old. The jeans are from the new range of jeans in at Tesco right now. Obnoxiously pink jeans were missing from my ever growing coloured jeans collections, so added they were and me likey.(ive also added mustard...prepare to see them a lot, I likey them too!)
The top originally had a floppy wierd bow that just didnt sit right. i bought it ages ago on ebay for pennies and then didnt like it, squirreled it away for 2 years, dug it out by complete fluke the other day whilst sorting stuff out and now love it, plus the stupid floppy bow fell off as i was trying it on. This is why i hate getting rid of clothes. Im fickle!
exhibit b to my fickleness: This cardi. This cardi was bought when i was 18 (eeeek nearly 10 years ago:/ ....) its a size 10 and i used to wear it a fair bit. I then got bored of it and gave it to my mum about 3 years ago. She then got some wear out of it and then forgot about it. For some reason i thought to myself the other day, "oh how i miss that thin striped cardi" random, i know. So i text mummy dearest and what d'you know shes a squirreler too and had it at the back of her wardrobe.
Dont get me wrong i can't do it up but it was perfect for a bit of pattern mixing!

This is why im a hoarder hoarderson!! But a happy one!
