GUEST POST: The Lovely Sian

Hi there everyone! I'm Sian from Rebel Angel and I'm guest posting for the lovely Rachel today! I was super excited when she asked me to guest post for her as I adore her blog and colourful outfits, I just hope I can reach her outfit standards on here =) You can get a little of my usual style from this post – this is almost my typical type of outfit: pretty dress, cardigan, tights....but the shoes are something altogether different. I'm not exactly a 'trainers' type of girl – I of course owned the Converse typical of my generation and wore them with my skinny jeans, but my heart just wasn't in it, and I was glad when kitten heels came in to fashion so I could wear baby pink ones with bows on!
But I spotted these shoes when out shopping with my sister recently and just had to have them. I've seen a few bloggers sporting trainer-esque shoes with dresses and shorts recently and loved the change, so I had to try it out myself. Then how can you go wrong with the little extra height these provide?! Plus, they're super comfortable =D

ardigan: Zara (sale)
Dress: Zara (sale)
Shoes: River Island
Of course, when you're wearing shoes with that Creeper platform style you have to do that typical blogger pose – it's mandatory XD
Anyway, the dress is very typical me – lace, pretty shape, low back. It's also something I bought on that same day out shopping when I noticed that Zara had a sale on, and the cardigan is from Zara's sale nearly two years ago now!
I hope you've enjoyed my post and seeing a little bit of what goes on over at my . Don't forget to pop over and say hi, I don't bite!! Here's my Blog

GUEST POST: The Lovely Law

You may have noticed that I'm not Rachel, but fear not I am just guest posting for today so 'Hello' and I promise Rachel will be returned to you shortly. How rude I haven't even told you who I am, I'm Law from That's So Yesterday- That's my blog where I tend to ramble word vomit, and show people how I dress like a crazy bag lady. I'm actual a mother like Rachel, but I'm not, repeat not a 'mummy blogger' (nothing wrong with it, but I need a place to escape). Like Mrs Hat I'm more of a lifestyle blogger, my blog is like my third baby and my place to express what's been going on, the mothers outlet if you like.
I thought I would share the questions I get emailed from readers, so here we go:

Are you real a mum?
Firstly I always laugh (very loudly) that anyone would think I would lie about this, I mean of course most blogger are using fake kids it's the new 'it' thing to do. Back in the real world I have two very cheeky little chaps, Corben is almost three and Logan is almost six months old. Both are named after film characters, as I'm a comic geek and I like that both are anti hero's I hope they grow up to be gentleman.

Who's your style icon?
Always a tough one, I have so many people I look up to style wise. I would say my nan was my first style icon, she wore red lipstick no matter what. I offend thought that she must have worn it in the bath and even when she slept, it's such a simple thing but made her look glamorous even in an apron! I think most icons of style are people in music, they are almost playing a character so get to wear crazy pieces. I met Sarah Jessica Parker years ago, I'm never sure if it's her or Carrie Bradshaw who has the real style- a bit of both maybe. I do love a pin up girl too, so Bettie Page or Dita would be on my icons list but there are so many creative people out there.

What's your style?
A mash up of colour, texture with a little bit of WTF mixed in.... I really don't know, I don't think I have one (and if I do it's a confusing one) it's always changing and I don't take fashion seriously. It's like grow up dress up, my friends say I'll wear anything which is almost true. Not sure you will ever see me in a tracksuit or Ugg's, they are just not me I want to look back when I'm 60 or something and think 'yep I tried that look'. You can't always get it 'right', but by taking the risk you will discover something new and that's what fashion is about.

Is your hair your own?
Sadly yes, I have killed it with the dip dye as I had to bleach the life out of it. I have pink at the moment, but I'm getting bored already the up keep is pricey too as it fades quickly. I have alopecia and so this is my way of taking control, the way I looked at it was if my hair is going to fall out anyway I'm going to have fun with it. Alopecia can get me down, but people go through far worst in life so you just have to crack on. I recently made dip dye extensions, so they make my hair look a little fuller but in the words of Amy Winehouse ' Yes it's my hair, i paid for it'. I only wear they every now and than.

Where do you shop?
Charity shops mainly, I am a tad addicted to them as I get a buzz at finding a bargain or five also you never know what your going to end up finding. I do like high street shops, but I have noticed some have gotten stupidly expensive lately and quality is still the same. I adore H&M, at one point I was only buying clothing from there I don't tend to shop trends so high street can be very hit and miss for me. I love to customise my clothing, I will stud everything and anything and I have been dying a heap of old clothing to give it new life. I'm also a not so secret eBay lover, you can buy the most random things on there which suit me just fine.

What style do you hate?
Hate is a strong word, the thing is that style feeds off everything. You may think that something is really new, but really it's just parts of different eras throw together. I think it's easy to get style and fashion mixed up, fashion is what is current and style is just you. I could never hate someone for being themselves, I may dislike what they are wearing but I'm pretty sure most people don't care - Not in London anyway, that's what I like you can get anyway with anything here. Saying this I HATE crocs, but the question was what style and they have zero style! I worked at Office years ago, and when people came in to buy them I had to resist throwing them out the shop (the CROCS not the customers by the way, I'm not that harsh).

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Rachel for letting me type nonsense all over her lovely blog, I'm pretty sure the blog world will bar me from every guest blogging again. I hope you have enjoyed my rambles and now a question for you.

What do you feel when you blog? - I get asked this a lot and I think you can guess that it makes me warm and fuzzy. I want to know how does it make you feel ....

Record Breaking

Well Helloooo lovelies.
I haven't been here since Monday and it feels like ages. I am having trouble lately fitting everything what with work, kids and general life. Throw in the crappy utterly soul destroying weather and thats pretty much where i've been!
But, today is a new day. There is no rain and hubby (photographer) was with me for more than 5 minutes to be able to snap these photos! I practically dragged him outside before his bum hit his chair to get the shots.
Do you guys take your own photos with a tripod and timer? With conflicting schedules lately, we're never together to take photos. What do you do to get your pics?

Skirt: Modcloth
Cardi: on sale Tesco
Top: old New look
Clogs: Lotta From Stockholm
Flower: Old
When i walked down the stairs in todays outfit Paul (hubs) actually laughed out loud! Literally bellowed with laughter. After recovering from laughter he said i look like a firework and that he didn't know where to look first. But i love this outfit, i instantly felt happy in it, i mean its just so fun!
And a personal best for me 3 patterns in one outfit!
Now i have a question for you guys. to cut or not to cut, this is the question. I've been growing my hair for a while and it does grow fast, but i was thinking of having a chop to this nothing to drastic but a chop none the less. or do i keep growing. I've always wanted hair that covered my boobies, haha!:)

Anyway i better get to some of this humongous work load before it's home time. Hours seem to be flying by lately where does the time go? I could do with some more!!
A few lovely ladies have been so kind as to set me up with some amazing guest posts as i may be away a couple of days again, so keep an eye out for them.

Take care
And belated Independence Day wishes to my American Friends and even more belated but Happy Canada Day to the Canadians for earlier this week xxxx

Whole Heartedly

Hey lovelies,
Nice weekends? Mine was spent attending childrens events. Mia had her big athletics comp (which she brought home two huge trophies...that girl is lightning fast!!) and then a children's karaoke party. I went to sleep at half 9 last night as i was so pooped! This rock n roll lifestyle is hard work i tell ya! One nice thing was that whilst the girls were wailing  karaoke style, me and paul snuck off for a quick meal together. Ed's Diner was delish! It was dry for once and i thought warm, but man was i mistaken! And that damn wind meant that half of Cardiff got to see my knickers which just so happened to be big old red Christmas panties! (in my defence i was rushing getting ready this morning and plus they are the most comfy pair!)

How funny is this photo, i feel like its from a shampoo advert!!

Dress & belt: (old) Closet via Dorothy Perkins
Cardi: Tesco Clothing
Bag: Matalan
Shoes: Peacocks
Necklace: Vintage
Milk Bottle Legs: c/o  British Weather!

Oh my!! Could my legs BE any whiter? oh sun please come visit soon, looking at those milk bottles up there is depressing! it may be time for some fake tan. Having said that, the legs are well and truly put away, its chilly. And i know lots of you are having a massive heatwave at the mo, and i would like to offer up a weather swap with you!
This dress is from Neo's birthday last year (yes i bought a dress for me for my sons birthday, i wanted to look like a pretty hostess for his party... any excuse for a new frock, am i right?) and i've only just started wearing it again. Infact it's only it's 3rd ever outing.  i don't know why, its lovely!! teeny tiny scattered hearts and bright colours, what's not to like.
And im back to the well and truly tried and tested, cardi, dress, flats :)
I see trousers and boots in my near future with this weather though (ok enough about weather already right!)
So shopping my own wardrobe is good! i wonder what other goodies i can dig out!! :)
Wishing you a super lovely week all!
