Meet Trish of Reserved For Ruby

One of the things i love about blogging is "meeting" (all be it virtually) other wonderful like minded Ladies. I "met" Trish one evening on Twitter, i believe after a #fbloggers chat possibly.
Fast forward a few months and i now have the honour of her lovely self adorning the RTH sidebar and making an introduction to you..
Everybody... Meet Trish of the blog Reserved For Ruby

Hi Everyone I'm Trish.
I started blogging to document my love for fashion. I am by no means a fashion expert but after years of friends and family asking where I bought certain items in my wardrobe, I decided to start a blog so they could keep track of any outfits they wanted to purchase too!
I have a lot of fun sitting down to write on Reserved For Ruby and it has become a little sanctuary where I can relax and dive into a world where everything is peaceful and filled with fashion!

I like to blog a little about beauty - skincare and makeup but I get quite shy about that subject matter because I see so many other bloggers who seem like complete experts on such a wide range of beauty products.
For me, fashion comes naturally. I quickly realised how friendly the blogging community is and became hooked. I love how every blogger likes to encourage others to keep going and it is one big happy family.
I really hope it continues to grow and remain that way as, I always believe there is room for everyone. When I came across Rachel's blog I quickly fell in love with her style and her way with words which makes her blog so enjoyable to read. I love sitting down in the evening and on weekends and browsing through posts which I didn't get a chance to read during the busy working week.
Like Rachel, I would say my style has naturally evolved over time.
I am Irish and in my twenties and since school and college I guess I have tried to build a more classic capsule wardrobe...which I never seem to stick to and always find myself gravitating towards a few 'on-trend' pieces each season.
For A/W 14 I already purchased a couple of printed blouses....which I will post about in the next couple of weeks. I like to wear quite a lot of cream coloured clothing which I find so easy to mix and match with more patterned clothing. I don't think I will ever get bored of cream tops so they will always remain a wardrobe staple for me.
Since May, I committed to writing one blog post a day. Although I have maintained this for the most part, I belive in quality over quantity. That said, I aim to deliver a new post at least 5 times a week. To keep updated you can follow me on pretty much every social media channel or subscribe via email to my blog.

I don't have any regrets...I believe hindsight is wonderful but it is so important to not look back with regrets and just do what you can today.
However, I wish I started my blog sooner. I began blogging in 2008 and stopped because I was afraid. Afraid of what? Who knows but I was pretty scared of what people would think. It took me a while to get over that and there was always a niggling feeling to start a blog. And so one very dark and dreary January evening after work I came up with Reserved For Ruby and have kept going ever since. Albeit the posts were less frequent at the beginning, I decided it wasn't fair to ask people to follow my blog without providing unique and quality content. I hope I live up to that now and one thing is definitely for sure, I try to improve my blog every single day. I am always searching for the perfect leather jacket, winter boots and a staple cream blouse and I don't think I will ever find the 'perfect' one but I think half the fun is in the hunt! Every year, I get excited about shopping for these items and long may it continue. Right now as I am getting my winter wardrobe ready, I am finding some pieces for my bedroom. I have partnered up with Wayfair.co.uk and they are kindly giving away a beautiful cream blanket box and cushion to one lucky reader. You can enter here. Leave a comment below or on my blog letting me know a little about yourself. I am always looking for new blogs to follow so feel free to share your links.

Faux leather Skirts (&Passion4Fashion Linkup)

How the heck is it Friday already? I actually had to check the day twice yesterday as I just couldn't believe it was Thursday.. where oh where has this week gone? I had such big plans of things i were to do and yep i don't feel like achieved half of what i wanted..boohoo. Well, there's always next week, right? Start all over again and hope for the best!
Moan over, i promise;)
So faux leather is totally at the top of my radar at the moment. Ever since i bought a pair of coated jeans last winter, which then a faux leather mini quickly succeeded, i have been loving it. Faux leather just adds such a great edge to an outfit. I have been eyeing up some faux leather trousers and am desperate to take the plunge (any suggestions? I've been thinking H&M?), but in the mean time faux leather skirts are fuelling my faux leather loving heart.
This lovely skirt recently arrived from Almost Famous after i spent practically hours drooling over their beautiful Look Book. Choose one piece they said.. my God, IT WAS SO HARD! i now just want to deck myself out, head to toe in Almost Famous.
Such prettiness, such great prints and wonderful on trend pieces.
I went for the Faux leather Pencil Skirt in the oxblood colour (the colour that is set to be on trend for another winter, shame they had to stick with the name though...oxblood..eugh)
Its a beauty.
I can't wait to start wearing it in the colder months with a big chunky knit and try rocking the norm-core trend that i keep reading about in all the latest magazines.
In the mean time, whilst the UK has it's normal Indian Summer (kids go back, the sun comes out), i decided to try it with a boxy crop breton top and some clashing heels.

Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Clutch Bag: Peacocks

Are there any key pieces you are loving for Autumn?
Or trends you can't wait to try?

Wearing Tomato Red & Finding the Perfect tailored Trousers (with confidence boost built in!!)

Tomato Red is said to be one of the new season colour trends, of which i can totally get on-board with.. i mean it's red, i love red (no secret there is it?!) So when you walk in to the shops or open the latest magazines and see red everywhere, well i am like a kid in a sweet shop! The thing i love about red is how it can look great on everyone. Blondes, brunette, black or red hair, it is just a wonderfully fun vibrant colour that adds such a fun burst on a grey day. In the depths of winter this will definitely be a great colour to be cheering myself up with. I love how it can appear dressy, work smart or casual.
It's a great all rounder. I'm glad red is having a moment (my poor bank balance probably isn't)
The other thing i wanted to mention was these trousers. I had been on the eternal hunt for a pair of smart trousers to give my beloved jeans a rest.
Sometimes a girl just wants a smart, well fitting but comfy trouser. Not a lot to ask for, right? Right.
Well it only took me about 2 years to find them but these bad boys are most definitely the one!
Perfect length (i love the cropped ankle grazer length, perfect for showing off your favourite shoes in all their glory), they have stretch which is very important for my high comfort levels, but also retain their shape well.
Oh and these are a size UK 6 ladies. Yep thats a confidence boost built right in there.
A dainty teeny tiny size 6.
What the What Gap?
Hey I'm not complaining here, anything that makes me feel slight and skinnier than i actually am is always a bonus, but beware if you buy online,  Gap sizing is extremely generous.
This took 3 attempts in the changing rooms and sending my darling mum back and fourth to fetch new pairs before we settled on the size 6.
They are however totally worth it...
It's trouser love
Suffice to say, i love this outfit. (is that weird to blow your own trumpet about your own outfit? I'm British we don't do that, it feels odd)
The new gold clutch is the final stand out piece. They will be for sale very shortly at Yosa, it is the perfect little clutch for the festive season... Christmas doo's etc. And yes, i did just mention Christmas (113 days people;)

Trousers: Gap
Shoes: River Island
(sold out on line i believe but some great options below)
Clutch: Coming soon to Yosa
Trench: Next (old)

So tell me have you or will you be trying the Tomato Red trend? I'd love to see if you have!
And do you have the perfect pair of trousers? Or are you a jeans girl through and through?
Let me know in the comments, i love to hear your thoughts!
