First things first, ladies today I completed 100 days of no spending!! woohooo!

I am now free to shop as and how i choose, if we're pals on Instagram 

(if we aren't why the heck not? Lets be!) then today you will have seen me bombard your feed with my news. Way back on 6th Jan i pledged to go on a spending ban for 100 days (you can read all about it and my reasons here) and today marked day 100. I am so so pleased to have completed my challenge i set myself and it has actually taught me A LOT more than i even envisaged. I'm going to go in to that hopefully tomorrow, but for today just know that i am stoked to be done. Come back tomorrow for all my thoughts on 100 days of no spending.

This is Debbie's #frockswapuk choice from George at Asda which i absolutely adore with its fringing and corals and pinks it is just uh-mazing, my way of styling isn't all that far away from Debbie's here, We both went for the black base and Donna's sweet pink clutch. I actually wore a very similar version of this to a concert with hubs a few weeks ago so this is a definite favourite of mine.
The pleather mini, oh how i love it and these new statement heels are making my feet very very happy i can assure you. What's that famous Carrie quote;

"The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a {single} woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun"

Never a truer word said my friends!

Monochromatic and Passion For Fashion Link Up

A little monochromatic number for you today folks. As much as i love colour, i do also love a simple black and white combo. Simple and effective i find. This purdy heart skirt was Erica's choice from F&F clothing for our #Frockswap, she styled it beautifully here, and i can safely say that this skirt is so so Erica. Me though? well i haven't worn hearts in a while and skater skirts feel a little on the unflattering side for me (they hug my mum-tum in all the wrong places, blah!!), but i did actually like Erica's skirt. It was comfy and like nothing else i own, which is always so refreshing, and being refreshed with your wardrobe choices is always a good thing i think. When this arrives safely back to erica i can see it surely becoming a staple for her, but for now on to Debbie and Donna it shall go, and i cant wait to see their take on it!

Spring Decorating

It's official, we have been in our home for a year, and we still love it so very much more than our old dilapidated house. With a long first winter under our belts here it has given us chance to settle in and get the 'dynamics' of our family home. With our bedrooms all pretty much sorted , bar some additional storage needed, I have my eyes firmly set on our living room. At the moment it is brown brown and more boring, i mean brown. We didn't immediately change it when we first moved in as the decor was inoffensive and we mainly concentrated on the bedrooms, and making things nice for the kiddies.
But spring gives me the urge to clean and decorate (anyone else like this?) The light shines in from both sides of our living room and all the drab brown just doesn't do it for me.
So with that in mind i have been perusing Urbanara's Spring colour trends for the home and seeing what catches my eye..

Here's what i am liking

 The colour scheme of light orange and shades of blue is just dreamy, when i think about it i would wear these colours in an outfit. I guess placing a room together is like putting an outfit together. I can see me having a lot of fun 'dressing' my living room.

My problem is i am completely fickle, which becomes a problem when choosing what theme to go with. I just love them all, i have such eclectic taste there's just too many beautiful styles to choose from.

Aztec and Leopard Print

Just as i stepped out to take these photos the heavens opened.. you can actually see the rain in the photos if you look closely enough. That's dedication folks... or just plain crazy blogger-ness. I know its traditional to have showers in April, but i'm already done with rain.. please weather God's don't let this persist for the rest of the month, its almost unbearable. 

With the shops selling all the pretty spring-summer trends, it almost feels like some kind of torture. 

Like 'look at all these pretties you just can't wear 'cos you live in a stupidly wet country'.. its just not fair  i tell you (ok strop over, i promise).

Speaking of trends, for the past few summers some of the major design/prints have been tribal/aztec, this summer there's the addition of the 'Out of Africa' trend, think exotic animal prints, textures and utility dresses. It's the 'I've just come off a glamorous safari' look. And i for one love it. If you've been reading RTH a while you will know that i am a total animal print convert. I have gone from don't like at all, to gimme all the animal print there is! You only have to flip through a copy of Vogue to see Dolce and Gabbana's Out of Africa adverts and you realise this is going to be a hot trend this summer. 

New Look, Asos and Peter Hahn have a whole section on their site for Out of Africa style pieces, with lots of great prints.

Here i've gone for a bit of tribal and incorporated my little bit of africa with my gorgeous leopard print shoes. I really fancy one of those utility khaki dresses for summer too, with some gladiator sandals...
