My Summer Wish Lyst

Regardless of the actual British weather, i live in hope when it comes to our Summer.
More often than not that means planning lovely summery outfits, that you never get to wear as the weather just doesn't co-operate. But after years of sufferance I've become a bit more British Summer savvy.

With the help of Lyst i have made the most wonderful capsule of pieces that i want to buy for the coming season. It includes items that would make the most versatile, wearable summer wardrobe ever, leaving my disdain for Old Blighty and mother nature a thing of the past.
I've mentioned Lyst before(here), but i just find it such a great shopping/planning tool. If, like me, your budget doesn't allow you to buy your whole summer wardrobe in one go,  you can just add it to your Lyst. In my case i am currently collating my Summer Wish Lyst, which i ahve to say i am absolutely loving right now! It has some amazing pices that i am coveting and, yep, i feel i may have made the perfect UK summer capsule wardrobe. There's still a couple of items i may add over the next few weeks, but hopefully i shall be picking off my items piece by piece to purchase.
The other thing i love is that it tells you if your items go on sale.. whats better than finding one of your coveted gems on sale.. Good right?!
So whats on my Summer Wish Lyst?
I feel i've covered off most bases and kept with a very clear colour scheme, making everything inter-changable.
Go take a look, there are some absolute beauties on there, but to give you an idea, here's a few of ma faves from my Lyst.

Denim, stripes and neutrals are all a running theme. Then theres a couple of 'Hero Items' like that bright colour pop bag, or the perfect floral dress, all to make a rather wonderful summer.

I love the New in section too, which is where i've found A LOT of my summer wish Lyst pieces, it knows what i like which is rather handy, rather than having to scour 50 gazillion items.

The other reason i love to Lyst is to hunt for particular items (Lately its been a navy blazer firstly, so handy to have and also a khaki jumpsuit that will satisfy both my love of khaki and jumpsuits!) Lyst enables me to search tons of retailers without having to pull my normal trick of having approx 128 tabs open on my browser (my husband goes mad, He thinks its ridiculous having that many tabs open, and i have to say, the man probably has a point). So verry very useful as i've actually found both!

Have you ever used Lyst to help you shop? I honestly can't recommend it enough.

Heels that steal the Show

Sometimes simple outfits are the only way. Simple outfits jazzed up with some great heels. That's all a girls needs sometimes. That girl is me lately. I am opting more and more for ease of dressing and some hero items to take the outfit from meh to wow! The Alice Boden heels and clashing colourful Wallis clutch were my hero items in this outfit, taking it from a plain white shirt and jeans combo to funky and fun for a fabulous night out with old school friends, which was just wonderful. We sat we gossiped we reminisced. It was wonderful. We worked out that one of my particular friends and i had been friends for 26 years!! Firstly, i don't know how the heck that happened as i don't feel a day over 21 and secondly woahh how time flies. I remember us being 4 year old little girls in our frilly white socks and school dresses, in the playground haring the see-saw. Crazy.
And its official. I'm old.
I'm old and i like simple outfits.
But at least my shoes are awesome
;)

Shopping with Boohoo and #Passion4Fashion Linkup!

Do you ever stop shopping somewhere, whether that be online or instore, somewhere because you thought that it may have been too old or too young for you? I have. And its a rookie mistake. never rule anywhere out is my new rule, because frankly there are gems to be found everywhere, and i was blatently just cutting my own nose off ruling out places because my head did too much of that over thinking.
So what's behind this realisation? Well Boohoo is. Boohoo is an online store i shopped at many moons ago, probably when they first launched in-fact. Then as i got older i started to vere away from it. Why? who knows.. we all know i'm not quite all there, right? Because frankly they have some lots of amazing clothes and even better, it normally comes with a small price tag. Its just a case of finding the gems and what works for you, as it is in any shop.
So when they asked if i would like to order something from their website i got to looking. And now kidding, i had a basket full of great wearable pieces that i would love to have in my wardrobe.
Their maxi dresses are so comfy and reasonable (more on that next week and proof to back up my words) and nicer than some i bought for a damn site more in various stores last summer.
They also launched the fabulous #weareus empowering women to be bold, stylish, musical, whatever.. being proud of who you are! S'kind of nice no?
But today i bring you this awesome khaki (it just had to be khaki didn't it?! what can i say i'm a sucker for khaki, one may need a khaki-intervention soon though, can you help?) sleeveless jacket.
I absolutely fell head over heels for it. It's been fairly mild out lately so this worked perfectly for adding an extra barrier against the breeze and adding a little interest at the same time.

Have you ever written off a shop just to be proven wrong?

A Little Bit Boho

I have been channelling a very clean lined sort of look of late. Mostly blazers, jeans and heels or smart shoes. But sometimes its nice to kick off the heels and go down a different road. Boho is huge for summer, as it has been for a few summers now, and with the shops filled with fringing, floaty tops  and enough 70's paraphernalia to make any hippy at heart feel at home, i couldn't help but pick a few pieces out.
What i love about boho is how casual it is. Its the perfect style for those days off when you're not really much in the mood to get dressed up, you know the ones, where you know you have to wear real clothes but secretly you just want to stay in your pj's all day and eat nutella straight out the jar (just me?).
Its that comfy and casualness which always pulls me back to this style of dressing, and even when the rest of my wardrobe is perhaps taking a different route, there's no harm in throwing in a few easy pieces for those down days.
This particular outfit is made up of some of my most favourite purchases. The boden lille lace up flats are by far the most comfy shoes for all day wear. I can not recommend these enough.. no wearing in process where you endure what can only be described as chinese water torture for the feet. Nope these were good from the first step and then only got better after a week of wear. They seem to have moulded to my feet making them fit like a glove; or slipper in this case. Their soft suede is like butter, perfect for running around like a crazy woman, ie me on any given day (look up crazy woman on google and you'll most likely find an image of me, frazzled)
The suede skirt is also a new addition. Its actually the one i went for out of my search for skirts post and it is a beaut! Soft to touch, easy to wear and so much potential. i am super dooper pleased with my new skirt addition. Its calling for a breton top and my birkies don't you think? I can see me reaching for this many many times over the summer and even into winter with tights and booties. Ahh the excitement of young love, there's nothing quite like it is there;)
