Summer Skirts (& #Passion4Fashion Link up)

I wanted to start this Fridays link up with a heartfelt BIG thank you to all who visit here week after week and join in the link-up. I was just scanning through some old posts and seeing hundreds of your beautiful faces smiling back at me  really, really made me so happy. It's lovely to see you all and i honestly can't thank you enough for swinging by here, if its every week or every now and again, THANK YOU!

We've actually experienced a few days of summer here in Wales.. I know! What a treat. It's meant that I've actually gotten to wear some of the pieces I had planned in my Summer Capsule!
This particular outfit was planned from way back in May but we just haven't had enough of the nice weather to wear it. I fell for the skirt instantly, knowing it would be great dressed up or down. The soft aztec print is super versatile and with the pattern leading vertically  its a nice flattering print for my bottom half, lengthening rather than widening.. which is always a bonus.

Outfit Details:
Skirt: Warehouse bought back in May
Denim Jacket: Super old
Cami: Topshop
Heels: Next, last year
Clutch: Yosa
Necklace: Yosa

So anyway, enough about me. How are you?
Are you enjoying summer or looking forward to Autumn/fall?

Latest Capsule Wardrobe offerings (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

Just the latest offerings from my Summer Capsule today, a month on (already) from the last one.
Its been a bumpy ride to say the least but I haven't given up completely, and I am definitely still continuing as it's now a way of life for me that I love.
I am half way through my summer Capsule and have had to relent add in a few more pieces. Only a few are newly bought, any others I have flexed in from storage.
Currently I'm sitting in sub-tropical temps, which is so unlike the UK (and I daren't even moan about it, but I have prickly heat, bleuhh!) and finally I am getting some use out of the shorts and little cami vests I had picked out all those weeks ago, hurrah!!
So this looks like phase one of my summer capsule. Filled with more Spring wear then summer, but I did it, and I've loved every single one of these outfits. I've definitely found my groove, and looking through these pics or on my IG account you can see a definite colour scheme.. a working colour scheme pleases me greatly.

A few of my favourite pieces are
The Cream lace insert shirt (above, and again further down) on sale from Warehouse. This is an addition as all the cami's were just not working in the cold weather spell. This shirt is so soft, so comfy and minimal, but charming. I love it.

My Topshop jeans were to replace some of my really ill fitting jeans since loosing some weight, or destroying a pair with bleach. I could quite happily live in these. Just the right amount of stretch, the perfect fit, high wasited and they don't sag through the day, which wins them major brownie points in my books.

Black slider sandals.. easy, minimal, perfect lazy girl sandal.

Lots of the other pieces below are all old, the red floral dress is about 4 years old but I still love it now. Slow Fashion can be so satisfying when you see a piece that you've had for years and still want to wear it.
Now thats true love!

Khaki Maxi Dress (& #Passion4Fashion Link-Up)

Back with an outfit post.. finally! And just to ease myself back in gently  I am keeping it super simple. That's all my brain can compute lately: nice, simple outfits. The khaki dress was a purchase for my Summer Capsule, and I'm already glad to have it in there. Its light, comfy and perfect for days when you can't be doing with fake tanning/preening ones legs... #lazygirlproblems.
I am a big fan of easy dressing as you all now, so this is one of those no-brainer outfits that you can pull out on days when you just can't be doing with the using up brain-power (me most days then). I look forward to remixing it with some black, blush and some navy too.. oooo and orange, or red. See great little re-mixer all with one dress.
I didn't wear many maxi dresses last summer, but have already fallen back in favour of them.
Are you a maxi dress lover?

Dress (LOVE these theory options.. especially the first two)
Shoes: *Lotus
Clutch (old) This one is beautiful
Cream Cardigan
Tassel Belt (Super similar here)

Summer Capsule REVEAL

Good God this was tough. Shopping, deciding and over thinking these past few days has really made me glad i don't have to put any more brain power in to this as it's been really consuming. Even now I'm not entirely sure if i've done the right thing or if these pieces will see me comfortably through for the next 3 months.
I think it may be because there is less thinking in summer dressing, less layers and generally easier styling as its too hot to add anything additional most of the time.
And then on the other hand, sometimes its not hot, just mild at best, and so I have had to cover off those eventualities as well.
It's helped that it's been wall to wall sunshine the past 10 days so that has me in summer mode, but i know only too well that it can change at the drop of a hat.
All in all I *think* i'm done.. (More like i can not be arsed(technical term) to put any more brain power in to this for now). But with some old and a few new pieces I am excited to start creating outfits once again.

For me the capsule is aimed at making my life easier on a daily basis and to limit my shopping habit. Easier because i don't have endless amounts of clothes to be indecisive about, and limiting the shopping habit as i have been known to shop like its an Olympic sport of which I'm a Gold medal winner 3 times over.
Spring worked perfectly for me, and so I hope this Summer one will too..

Couple of note worthy points:

My number at present is 34 pieces. I may add or subtract as needed. Being summer I may need a couple more vest tops, as delightfully hot and sweaty Rachel may need to change. There are also two things I couldn't get before publishing this: A denim blue skirt and a black strappy dress. Both top of my list, but will see if I can make do without as haven't found any that I really love enough, and like i said, time is ticking on. I'm aiming to not go any higher than 38 pieces. I shall keep you posted of any additions with the aim for total transparency.
**EDIT.. 4 pieces found and added in** see below.. CURRENT NUMBER 38

*I haven't included shoes or accessories in this capsule (I included shoes in my Spring Capsule), more for the fact I didn't really think much about shoes when incorporating the pieces. I'm a pretty standard shoe gal, love me some sneakers and live in sandals come summer. But I like to have my options open for whatever event will happen, it could be the park with the kids or out for lunch, or even rainy one day then blazing sun the next. So yes, shoes; I am allowing myself to wear whatever. I have plenty so won't necessarily be shopping for any (I am desperate for a black pair of flat sandals.. but my current ones are so lovely i just can't quit them yet and forego the comfy zone, but man are they worn.)

*I have a rain jacket that I will keep on the sidelines and hope i don't need it.

* Not including Dog walking, hiking, fitness wears.

*A lot of the items below are not the exact same as what i have. Lots of pieces in my capsule are items I've had for a while, whether that be a couple of years or just from my Spring capsule. I like to use what I have as much as possible, so the items below are either the exact or as similar as i can find.

So that's it, and so on to the pieces
