The Perfect Winter Knit Dress (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

A knit dress is an essential part of my autumn-winter capsule. It's just one of those brilliant little pieces that you can chuck on in a flash, pick up a jacket and boots and head out the door. But because it's a dress you automatically look like you made an effort, when really it was a simple no-brainer. As you all know, simple but effective dressing formulas are my groove and so this Madewell dress fills the requirements perfectly. I've already worn it lots, each time i've changed the boots, bag and jacket (although with the blank NY vegan jacket they seem to be best buddies and totally made for each other!)

Well it's friday folks.. And I don't know about you but my little brain is well and truly fried.  I'm currently writing a post for next week thats a little more hard hitting and something very close to my heart ( i do hope you'll come back for a read), but to say i'm drained would be an understatement.
So i shall hand the metaphorical mic over to you, I can't wait to see what outfits you all linmk up with this week. SO many caught my eye last week... You my friends are GOREGOUS!

Happy weekend to all of you!

Red Shirt with Leather trousers (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

It was love at first sight with this red blouse; Grandad style neckline, stunning red colour and a pretty floral print equals b-e-a-utiful. It was like it was the perfect option for Valentines day, for a date that didn't quite pan out (kids+life means nothing ever goes to plan, am I the only one?). But no biggy as i still donned my outfit anyway and strutted about in it regardless, just 'cos I bloody loved it, and that was good enough for me.
I paired the shirt with my little military blazer, my faux leather trews  and my so-worn-but-so comfy little Chelsea boots and felt put together, sassy (its the faux leather trews I tell ya, its just something about them that brings the sass), smart and yet totally comfortable.
I mentioned in my last post that I may have accidentally bought two blouses within the space of a week, well this was blouse number one, and totally different to number one you'll agree, right?
I kinda think this one could look great with some light flared jeans and tan accessories, or one fashion step further, cropped kick flare jeans... oooohh, me likey.
Don't you just love when a new piece really brightens up your wardrobe. I know I do.

Letting my coat do the talking & #Passion4Fashion Linkup

We all know by now i love a good coat. I think its because, ultimately i'm quite lazy (bare with me here) and a coat can so easily take your outfit from meh to yeh in 2 seconds flat.
On the days when i'm feeling particularly tired/lazy/busy.. so most days really.. i love to let my coat do the talking. Being British means coats are actually an integral part of our being. Even in summer.
So to have a great armoury of coats at your disposal makes for an easy life.

I spotted this one a month or so ago in good old Primark when out with my mum. I tried it on, i hugged it close and declared love. But practising what i preach and not buying everything that winks at me from the clothes rail i put it back, knowing full well i have over 20 great coats already.
My mum obviously sensed my dismay, as that wonderful woman then picked it up for me for christmas.

I adore it.

Its just so fun, especially on the grey days we've had in abundance of late.
Quite cleverly it does all the talking for me with its awesome print.
Even though it is quite a loud pattern I find it to be in really wearable colours, which, will look great over a black, navy or grey dress.
I also think it will looks super swell over an all black outfit of leather trousers, black blouse and ankle boots... oh any maybe jeans a white blouse and some sneakers (i'm thinking the navy gazelle's from wednesdays post.. obviously i know need them more than ever!)
So even though its quite a stand-out piece in its own right, it has some really great options for outfit, which we also know, pleases me greatly.

No one hit wonders here any-more ladies. Sustainable, awesome pieces only.
And this coat is most definitely that.
