MUMENTUM

Well as anticipated, I'm a day late for MUMenTum this week... maybe it's because food wise I have had an absolute shocker of a week and I'm ashamed at how bad I've actually been! I seem to be having real food issues at the minute. I seem to just be eating complete an utter crap constantly! I wish i were one of those mothers who were organised and serene and just generally together. I am the complete opposite of that. I'm stressy, dis-organised, constantly late and generally run around like a blue arse fly, with little or no idea how I get from one day to the next.
I seem to constantly be juggling and I have a lot of balls up in the air! So this results in me eating what ever is at hand, be it take away, drive through, lots of bread and sandwiches. Sooo not good! Don't even get me started on the chocolate. I am a complete chocolate fiend! Especially white chocolate at the moment. Last week we had no chocolate in the house as I had refused to buy any, with good intentions you see. However, out of pure necessity my spoon ended up in the Nutella (only a teaspoon I promise)

I'm so annoyed at myself!! Even more so as i had some pictures taken on the weekend with the kids and i looked like a summo wrestler. The bingo wings looked like i could fly somewhere! I was so upset. I don't want to look back in years to come at the pic's and see that!
The thing is in my head I'm still a size 8/10 (and 18 years old, just call me peter pan, I never feel like growing up!
But when I see the reality of the photos I'm disgusted with myself, and then i turn to chocolate, LIKE THATS GUNNA HELP ME!!!!
As you can see I'm annoyed at myself this week and so far today I have had fruit and salad and water.
My intentions are good... my actions turn bad :(

On the exercise front, again, been pretty good. Been on the treadmill 5 out of 7 nights and feel good for it. Have been doing incline training which really works bum, thighs and legs and it feels good! Been running in my Reebok Easytones too, which I find amazing! Will be doing a review this week on them for all that are interested.

So that's my really lame MUMenTum story for this week. I hope you've all had good weeks!
I'm gunna combat this eating issue, even if I go cold turkey on the choccy front!
If anyone has any advice it would be gratefully received!!
Sorry thats not really an inspiring post... Next week I really hope i will be happy and positive!

Best Wishes for the week

Rachel

Coral Crush!!

Ok I admit it, I have a crush! I'm currently crushing on coral. Every summer it's a colour I tend to orbit, but this summer there's a lot of it about, and is very on trend, which makes for great shopping(but not so great for my poor purse)!
It's such a pretty colour and it can be easily dressed up or down. I love mixing it with different colours, for me coral and khaki and coral and turquoise look fantastic together.

Top off with some gold jewellery and you're good to go!

Boho Beautiful...

Its no secret amongst friends and family, I am a complete boho lover. If anyone, were to pick an outfit out for me(which would be much appreciated, thank you, please!) everyone will always pick the same things, boho, gypsy, hippy-esque.
I think it may be the free spirit in me(on the outside I'm leashed to the endless daily chores, taxes and work unfortunately, but inside I’m a away with the fairies! Lol)
I’m an avid thinker of how you dress is a reflection of your personality/mood.
I'm terrible at art, painting or crafts. However my art, is my outfits. I just love mixing different colours, patterns and textures. And each outfit is a mini masterpiece for me that makes me happy.
Yes some people may call this vain, but this is my outlet, this is my art! Expression surely can't be bad?

"Fashion is so close in revealing a person's inner feelings and everybody seems to hate, to lay claim, to vanity, so people tend to push it away.  It's really too close to the quick of the soul."
- Stella Blum

Give me the latest catalogues and I’m a happy gal. I can sit there for hours planning outfits and ideas. And following other fashion blogs has really inspired me!
Yesterday my husband commented on how lovely I’ve been looking lately, and that he doesn’t know what I’ve done differently, but he really liked how nice I've been looking. This is so lovely to hear (even if he didn't know what was done differently, the sentiment was there though, so 10/10 for hubby lol)
People may think “your so vain(breaks in to song)” but to me its not about vanity(ok maybe a little bit) but no one can deny, looking good = feeling good. And looking and feeling good = happy mummy, happy wife, happy all rounder.
Ok I haven't fixed the worlds debt crisis or found a cure for cancer(mores a pitty) But for me lately getting through the days with a smile on my face is battle won!

So here are a few of my latest boho fav's

I love the idea or these tops with flares, jorts(jean shorts), white jeans, denim skirts... I can just picture me now, Big sunnies, Big floppy hat and a stacked pair of wedges! Who said time travelling was impossible! (although my local small towners may be slightly confused, bless, doesn't take much! Time Warp!!!)

Sales are calling out everywhere at the mo, some lovely bargains to be had.
Monsoon
Topshsop
Dorothy Perkins
All have some cracking offers, time to grab me a bargain or two.
Happy shopping peeps!

MUMenTum... week 2

Hello all!
Well as promised last week, I have taken on the Mumentum challenge with the other lovely mummy bloggers. It's challenge enough for me to blog every Monday, let alone stick to a healthy lifestyle plan.
However, I feel half pleased with myself for the past weeks efforts.
I have mostly healthy eaten through the week, making my home made minestrone soup (162 calories a bowl and totally delish) eating salads where ever possible and generally cutting back on the choccies and crisps. But, unfortunately come the weekend I seem to have slipped. I did a quick shop and picked up loads of (yummy) crap!! knowing full well I shouldn't be eating any of it. it was like my arm was reaching out to the shelves and pulling in all the delicious naughties. Hubby and I had quite a stressful week, business wise, so come Friday evening we were both mentally and physically drained, stuffed crust pizza followed by rocky road ice cream seemed to be the only answer.
On a plus side, I have been exercising!!
5 out of 7 nights I have done a vigorous jog on the treadmill, I'm working my time up, and doing 25mins at the mo. Have been really enjoying it and Neo thinks i'm hilarious to watch.
I have also been using my ab-tek belt once or twice a day, for half an hour, and I have definitely seen an improvement on the mum tum front, less protruding and bloated and hubby even commented and thinks maybe he will give it a go!
(thanks to would like to me a yummy mummy.blogspot.com for that review/recommendation)

So taking last week on board, I reckon if I eat completely healthy and carry on with the exercise, I could be finally getting somewhere! However, I find the food wagon very easy to fall off. I just can't help it, I'm a Huge foodie. Out on date night tomorrow with hubby, so healthy option may be difficult.
And finally i've also discovered this week that i have a slight addiction to jaffa cakes... not good on mumentum, but at only 46 calories a go, it seems mad not too! (just don't eat the hole pack like I did yesterday, at 46 calories a go this is also very easy :(...)

Good luck this week everyone who's also mumentum-ing it! really look forwrad to hearing how you're all doing!
*chants* MUMENTUM, MUMENTUM, MUMENTUM!!!!
