Easy Does It

Morning my Lovelies,

How did the weekend treat you? Good i hope!
We were super productive and started sorting out a BIG mess we have in our sun room. It had basically become messy storage but we are working hard to change that. Still a fair bit to go yet, but i can see the floor, which is a good start! Also as a bit of encouragement hub's has said i can have a desk and a sewing machine out there once it's all tidy. This i can not wait for as i have been bitten my the sewing bug thanks to my Sis. Does anyone have any sewing machine recommendations for a beginner?
So no major dressing up of any sorts this weekend, but sometimes this is my favourite way to dress. Ye sure i love the dresses and pretties but sometimes i like to look casual and put together. Stripes are my chic  go to normally when this is the case. I looked back to see if i'd posted an outfit like this before  as it's an outfit that is just so commonly done by myself and others i guess, but can't see that i've ever posted it.
I also saw this pic this lady's blog and pinned it as i just love her style.

Photo's all courtesy of my wonderfully talented hubby!
Striped Breton Top, Bag and Ring: New Look
Trench Coat: Next
Flared Jeans: Diana Vickers for Very
Red Clogs: Lotta From Stockholm

Can i just take a minute for the coat?It is made from sweatshirt/jersey type material and is so soft and comfy to wear. A trench style coat like this is timeless, i've had a couple in the past(that i unfortunately got to big for ) and swear they go with just about everything and are a complete wardrobe staple for any woman. With the severely unpredictable weather at the mo (what am i saying ..All the time in the UK) it's so nice to be able to throw on such a lovely coat.
We went to the park Saturday morning so Neo could run around and so we could tire him out, and this is what i wore. Comfy, warm and practical.
Sometimes i debate on blogging about these outfits, you know the thought; is this outfit good/funky/bright enough. But i kinda like these outfits too....

Wishing you all a super lovely week, and there's still time to enter the give-away if you would like a chance to win this :

Batten Down The Hatches

Happy Friday Folks. What a quick week!
Well the weather has gone from bad to worse, and when i say worse i mean horrendous! Gale force winds and torrential rain. Neo and me were stuck in all day in fear of being blown away. we did venture out into the garden to try out his new Wellie Boots but he got fed up of being whipped in the face by the wind, so we came in and he pretty much ate me out of house and home .
Taking photos this week has been a nightmare, rain sure is a bloggers worst enemy. It's honestly felt like autumn all week, not the nice golden leave, crisp air type autumn either, the rainy, grey depressing version.... This makes me so confuuused when getting dressed!
So i reached for a little inspiration from a girl close to my heart.
Oh Zoe, how i love your style, your perfect hair and skin. This outfit for some reason jumped out at me, i'm thinking maybe it was 'cos i had similar items ready to wear. So this my friends is my take on it.

Boots & Bag: Next
Necklace: New Look
Excuse the not so great quality of the pics, they were taken with hub's phone in the rain (dedication folks!) and the two with the details are from instagram a few weeks ago.
I've worn this outfit a couple of times and never manage to get good photos of it, one time it was way to sunny and this time it was too rainy.. never happy!

When i first wore this, i emailed my lovely blogging buddy Kym and said that i felt weird all day. Like i stood out like a sore thumb, which is so bizarre for the girl that wears more colours in one outfit than a freeking rainbow! White just feels so strange to me... i know, i'm a wierdo.  Second wearing in of this outfit felt better. So it's a definite grower. However i always feel so delicate in white i never wear this when i'm with Neo as i would be in constant fear all day (that boy is a mucky pup!) and i also hold any food approx 30cms away from me at all times, which made for some funny old looks at the restaurant let me tell you, it was either that or tucking the tablecloth into my dress, classy like and all!
But apart from that i do really like it! Are there any colours you don't feel comfy in? Do you avoid them or just go for it?

Well then Lovelies, welcome to the weekend. Hope you all have nice plans. Tomorrow is supposedly dry all day *fingers, legs and toes crossed* , the step kiddos are in Tenby, West Wales with their mum, so we are lower on numbers this weekend., but hoping to do a little home improvement and make the most of the weekend!

Wishing you a good 'un!

Ps have you entered my Blogiversary giveaway? Open till next Friday :)

pss: For my international friends, he name isn't actually Holly Willoboobie, its Willoughby. I think my son(of 22 months ) has his first crush, when she was on tv he sat and stared then blew kisses! Bless him... good taste at least!

Lovely Jubilee

Well it turns out i share something with the Queen. whilst she was having her Diamond Jubilee my Blog turned one the Same Day!!! Just call me Royalty ;)
I've taken some really fun photos in celebration which i can't wait to show you (so will probably be tomorrow!) And have a corker of a giveaway for you all!
But more about the blogaversary tomorrow.
Back to what has taken over the UK this weekend. The Diamond Jubilee. I'm not much of a Royalist (but i did watch Prince William and Kate's wedding from 8am all day long) but i just love to see a country unite and come together. Its the kinda thing that we Brits don't do enough and to see everybody's red, white and blue participation is spectacular.
And in true British style, it rained. Of course.

Skirt: British favourite Cath Kidston (link to this skirt Royal Guards skirt)
Stripey Knit dress underneath & Shoes: Next
Blazer: Matalan
Re-made Vintage Bracelet: won from the lovely Catherine's blog competition(yay me!!)

When i first saw this skirt on Cat i knew i had to have it. The kooky print and colours are just my cup of tea. Beware though if you do fancy yourself a Royal Guards kooky skirt, i've found mine, run's large. I ordered a medium which is always spot on for me, but this seems to be big. Still workable though. I fancy re-mixing it with some yellow on top perhaps. And even long after the Jubilee celebrations are over, i will still love this cute skirt.
The lovely bracelet was won in Catherine's giveaway and its from an amazing online store called Revintage jewellery where they take vintage bits and bobs and make them in to wearable pieces. Cool Huh!?!
So have you had a lovely weekend? I do hope so!

Make sure to pop by tomorrow for some Blogaversary fun and a fantastic give-away!

When the Weather Changes...

Happy Friday Folks,
And welcome to a loooong weekend Brits. Thanks to old Queenie we have until next Wednesday off, How wonderful!
Folks, i have been sick! Sicky sick sick. Yesterday i spent the day in bed feeling very sorry for myself. And today, after resting all day i feel like a new woman! Full of energy, happy and desperate to tackle everything head on. Which is so Bizzare! I'm just so glad to not be sick any more, it was horrible-yuck-gross!
And d'you know something, i didn't really see or go near Neo all day (he had nursery that hubs dropped him to and picked him up so i didn't have to risk leaving my bed and sick bowl..yuck!)  but i felt like i missed him sooo much, silly i know!

So as predicted (its pretty easy to predict in the UK) the weather has gone back to it's normal crappy grey/rainy self. My poor wardrobe is so confused! All these nice summer clothes to wear and yet it's going to be less than 13 degrees some days this weekend. And just when i'd banished my tights to storage!

*ahem* please excuse the underwear mishap... purple bra obviously wasn't meant to  be part of this outfit!

Lace Top, Maxi Skirt and tan pumps: Next
Bag: Matalan
Necklace: (my fav) Vintage

When in doubt i turn to a maxi skirt. Easy Peasy, i can put leggings or tights under there or go bare legged if warm enough... sorted! And this top, is just too pretty, i wnat to wear it lots! Any remix ideas for it ladies?
It's weird, i don't really wear naturals like this very often, you know me ladies, i'm normally all about the colour, the more the better. But this....this i like!  Something a little bit different, it's good to mix it up, right?

Right then chic-a-dees, i have SOOOO much to do so enough chit chat from me.
Have yourselves a wonderful weekend whatever you're doing, celebrating old Queenie or chilling out.. enjoy!

Ps are we Instagram friends yet?I'm @RachelTheHat(there's a link up there on the  left hand side). I am in love with it, and had my first lot of photos printed and in the post this morning, yay! now for some crafting this weekend, any display ideas for me?
