Interesting Dress & #Passion For Fashion Link Up

 Happy Friday ladies
Now i don't know about you but i am a big dress lover, i have been leaning more towards trying jeans lately but ultimately my heart lays with dresses, especially when they are quirky and interesting dresses. Joe Browns never fail in my view, to create and provide cool interesting and funky clothes. Their dresses are quirky and different which is always so refreshing. I have shopped with Joe Browns for years and love each time when the new season products land. Wistful Waitcoat Dress is one of their new additions and is limited addition. I'm super happy about adding it to the dress collection. I had 3 compliments wearing this yesterday which was pretty awesome. Even my 10 year old step daughter who is tres cool, said it was a great dress. Tweenager approval is a rarity my friends..

The dress has lots of lovely little details, bows, buttons and lacey bits.. its gorgeous! Plus the waistcoat style is very flattering with its cinched in look and also great for hiding my bloated lunch pasta tummy! oh yes... thats extra points in my book!!
i love black and red at the moment so dressed it up with some booties and a red bag and an animal print belt. I can see me wearing this lots through winter with chunky oatmeal cardigans and tan boots, wistful waistcoat winter styley, haha!
For winter i totally have my eye on this beautiful coat.. isnt it such a gorgeous statement coat?! Love!!

Circus Make-up

Duh duh duhduh duh Rachel Circus, duh duh duhdhu Rachel Circus, hahaha!
Recently Ladbrookes Casino set some bloggers a Circus Make up Challenge to mark the occasion of their Circus Slot Game. It sounded fun, SO with my Boots voucher in hand i went and bought:

 Barry M eyeshadow
Katie Perry False Lashes
Barry M Nail polish
Revlon Eyeliner
Boots Eye candy

I wanted to go for the classic black, red and gold circus theme and the glamorous (or not so in my case) knife throwers assistant haha! I am not the best with makeup (im a stick to the same style kinda gal) so it was good for me to be pushed dramatically. I've never worn false eyelashes before (not sure i will again?) but they were much easier to apply than i thought they'd be!!
Have you ever dressed up circus style?

Last Days Of Summer...

The nights are drawing in all thats left is for me to do is frolic about in vintage pretty dresses in the late afternoon sun. I cant complain. I am so excited for autumn but i'm still trying to enjoy the last few days of summer.

I was recently introduced to Brag Vintage and i have been perusing their site ever since. I love the selection of true vintage they have, I love the size range they stock (i dont always fit vintage and sometimes struggle with sizing, but not here!) and the service was super fast (have i ever told you i am impatient, when i order something online, i want it , like, yesterday.. i know.. diva rachel tut tut)
I chose this dress for its length, its the midi inbetweenie length that i just find so practical. The floral fabric is floaty but made of that rich cotton that vintage dresses are made of (don't make them like they used to as my dear old nan would have said).

It also had the most gorgeous lattice lace to the back, such a pretty little vintage feature. I felt so good in this dress all day, floating around. Even hubs really liked it. Question for you, what shoes would you pair with this dress? would you go edgy with boots or simple shoes? I wore simple pumps to the fields and walking around that day. But suggestions would be great!

Are you enjoying your last days of summer?

Cardiff & Coffee

It has been a wonderful weekend. On saturday my baby(not so baby) boy turned 3. We had a fab day and he was spoilt rotten with lots of Batman stuff. (im still sorting through birthday photos, will hope to share some soon) Then Sunday Neo went to his grandparents to have a second day of being spoilt. Hubs and i were planning on going to ComiCon in Cardiff but with one thing or another, we just didnt get there (Maybe next year, comicon?) But we still had a pretty sweet day wandering around our capital city, drinking coffee, people watching, a bit of shopping (dress for me, games for him) and yummy food. Oh cardiff, you are so lovely. I shall see you again soon.

First we walked through the old arcades, i love the quirky individual shops and the wonderful oldie worldy vibe they have. Its a nice contrast to the super new and plush St. Davids Shopping Centre.

Then we had our first stop for coffee. Im a huge coffee drinker, seriously, i have a problem, haha! This was just stop one, i probably consumed maybe 3 more that afternoon. Maybe its the lack of sleep, children, adult stressful lives that makes me drink so very much but i don't care, i do simply love the stuff. I have to say i am far more of a Costa person than i Starbucks (i will drink both though) but it got me thinking over said beverage, and i proposed to hubs that we invest in our own coffee machine....(i did a little research! oh yes!!) i mean seriously, i think as a grown adult who juggles work, house and kids i deserve the coffee machine. Pray tell if you know more on this subject please as i feel i have almost completely convinced Hubs on my coffee maker intentions! I also totally went the whole "investment" route, and "think of the savings we could make from me making our own coffees at home an not buying them out!" route, oh yes.. come to mama coffee machine!

For our day date i chose a simple easy going ensemble. My new coated jeans(which fyi, i love love love) flat comfy walking shoes and a light jacket. Its definitely cooled off a lot in these parts lately, the jacket was much needed, which can only mean one ting...autumn is coming! (even more reason for a coffee machine amiright?!)

a rare appearance of  hubby :) love him even more than coffee;)
Then finally round off with a bit of dinner, Chimichanga's ..i do love to say that name. Plus the food is awesome! BBQ Pulled Pork Chimichanga and nachos.. ooooo yes!

So there we have it! If you are ever in the UK/Wales come to Cardiff, I will meet you there and treat you to a Chimichanga (and then annoy you to death by saying Chimichanga a bazillion times )
