Leopard Lovin'

I have never been a huge fan of leopard/animal print.. but i've come to realise that worn in the right way it can be such a fabulous wardrobe staple (like these gorgeous Lotus shoes!!).
A little hit of animal print in a shoe or a scarf looks so chic, and never seems to leave the fashionistas radar, returning year after year. So i have decided to embrace a little of the animal print and go for it!

What do we think?
Are you an animal print lover? Do you often wear leopard prints?

Stripes & Aztec

It's so good to be back guys! We had a lovely time on our family trip to Cornwall but its always so nice to get home and sleep in your own bed and be amongst your own things (and wake up to your own wardrobe filled with all your lovely clothes, rather than a limiting suitcase) But it was lovely and we're already planning our next trip back perhaps in Spring next year. I would actually love to return to see Tintagel castle sans kids and climb to the top and do the hundreds of steps too, so that gives me a good reason to perhaps book a cheeky little weekend away for me and hubs, that would be sweeet!
Autumn is looking pretty wet in this neck of the woods, seriously rainy and windy ( to the point where our town has seen some roofs flying off and crashing on to peoples houses and all-sorts or trouble!) But the weather is still freakishly mild, im kinda routing for a cold spell to be honest , i know call me crazy, but there's nothing i love more than a crisp cold autumn morning, bundling up in scarf's and hats and big thick coats and going for a long walk.
But the mild weather does mean more biker jacket wearing. I know for a fact as soon as the cold weather hits i tend to ditch my little lovely jackets for big thick quilt like coats. I may like the cold, but i am a complete wimp and need my thermals, like the little old lady i am- heehee!
But scarves will definitely be a major fixture for the foreseeable. I just love how they can jazz up any outfit. And this dress im wearing went on sale (couple of sizes left here) after i'd been eyeing it for a few weeks so that was my outfit for today sorted. I am seriously going to have to curb the self spending the next couple of months, with a certain big day less than a couple of months away now.I need to get some serious planning on!!

Are there any items you're getting your wear out of whilst its still mild to do it?
Or do you carry on wearing items regardless of the dropping temperatures?

Where Do You Blog From?

I am quite a curious (read:nosey) person by nature. I think i should have been an estate agent as i love looking round peoples houses and catching a glimse of their home life. The place they go to to kick back and relax. I thought i'd share with you today a little glimse of my own home. My favourite room in fact is our bedroom, its my little safe haven, my quiet spot in the madness that is my house. With 3 kids running around, a husband who loves to Xbox and a cat who likes to have mad dashes across the living room, the bedroom becomes my retreat.
When we moved in back in April it was spring and i was influenced by florals and bright colours. Our last room was very dark with lots of browns so i wanted the opposite for this bedroom. Bright and lots of light colours. The retro print wallpaper was a spur of the moment buy when we were at B&Q picking up some DIY bits and pieces, but spur of the moment things can be good and i still very much like this as our feature wall.
When Out There Interiors asked if i would like to pick out a piece from their amazing collection , this beautiful leafy sun mirror is what i chose as the centre piece above our bed. I just love it!  its such an eye catching wonderful piece. I'm eyeing up a ton of things on their website now as they have so many funky alternative things.. If your looking to add some eye catching pieces to your home be sure to check out their  website here!
When i blog i like to have all my things around me, and a cup of tea of course. Normally i set myself up here with my laptop, my ideas book, my diary, my tablet for music and phone. Then i am good to go. Am i the only one that takes hours to blog? Sometimes it can take me about 2 hours to knock a blog post out. This could be because i am an extreme procrastinator! I blame internet, it lures me in each time and before i know it i have an online shopping cart at asos full of things i want to buy and no blog post written..! Yeeeshhh.. i need to work on my attention span!

This room is still a work in progress, i have two bedside white tables to buy still and a little extra storage i need to sort. But we are getting there one piece at a time.

I would love this to go on, so dear readers i tag you!

Guest Post : Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb

Biker jacket, purple skinnies & tan boots
Whilst i'm away on a family trip to wonderful (if not slightly wet & windy) Cornwall, i am handing the blog over to some amazing ladies/friends. To each i asked the same thing;

What is your go-to item this Autumn?
Today i present to you my long time blog buddy and constant source of inspiration
Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb.

Hi, I'm Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb (www.notdressedaslamb.com) and I'm guest posting for Rachel while she's away - for those of you that don't know me it's really nice to meet you! Like Rachel I'm from the UK (she's Welsh, I'm English) and we started our blogs at almost the same time - a couple of years ago now - and we've been blogging friends for most of that time. It goes without saying that we're huge fans of each other's style, and I was really flattered that she asked me to guest post! :) Biker jacket, polka dot blouse & galaxy scarf Biker jacket, polka dot blouse & purple skinnies
When she said the theme was my go-to item, I knew it had to be my black leather biker jacket - a great jacket is an autumn essential in the UK. I bought this one last year after many years of searching for the right one, and it looks just as great with skinny jeans as it does with a floral dress. For a faux leather it's unbelievably soft and a pretty good alternative to real leather, which would have cost me a fortune. I was having a bit of a mauve moment that day (a shopping trip), and discovered a great new colour combination of black, purple and tan. I'm always up for a bit of pattern mixing, and the galaxy snood and black and white polka dot shirt look look perfect together

So that's my style in a nutshell - pretty colourful with an unexpected pattern mix for good measure and tons of accessories. If you pop over to my blog then please do leave a comment to say you found me via this guest post, it would be lovely to meet some new readers (or say hi on Twitter or Facebook)! Enjoy your Friday and have a fabulous weekend
