Shoetober: Lotus Choices #Giveaway

I mentioned before that i have worked with Lotus for a year now and each pair of shoes i receive from them never lets me down.
Built to last but with the added benefit of inbuilt comfort, they are always my shoe brand of choice.
If i know i'm going to be on my feet all day or doing lots of walking it's always one of my Lotus pairs i turn to.
So with the rather generous £100 Gift card up for grabs (Such a shame i can't enter my own competition ;)) I thought i would share some of my favourites to help and inspire!

The Ankle Boots
An item every girl needs in their shoe armoury; The easy-going black ankle boot. Goes with jeans and dresses, easy to wear and comfy.
But..
Buckles or studs?
This is the question.

The Stylish Flats

As much as i love me some heels, flats play a huge part of my shoe collection. But flats are no longer the frumpy or boring choice of footwear.
With masculine styles such as the brogue or loafer everywhere this winter, its a great addition for all shoe lovers. Wear with chino's, jeans or skirts and you'll be on to winner.
As for the reds.. well such a timeless colour and shape with the slightly square elegant toe.
These would work well for you in any season.

 The Knee High Riding Boot

The knee high boot. Currently on the top of my shoe shopping list!!!
I have been on the look out for weeks for the perfect high leg-knee-high black flat boot.
Perfect with leggings and a tunic for easy day wear, or skinny jeans and your woolly sweaters.
Equally great with dresses or skirts too.
Last year was very much all about the biker boot, but this winter see's the return of the higher leg boot, which i actually find more flattering as they hit you at a slimmer part of your leg rather than the calf.
My absolute favourites (and trust me i have done weeks of research, scouring all sorts of sites!!) are definitely the Lotus Chill black boot (left), the rounded tops and lace back detail make these the perfect boot! Swoon!!! These are on my MUST BUY list

 The Statement Shoe
(what i also like to call; the Wild card in the shoe game;)

And lastly the wild card, the pair of shoes you turn too to carry your outfit from meh to WOW!
I love me a good statement shoe.
My favourites are a pair of blue suede shoes even Elvis would be proud of and these beautiufl pewter heeled boots. The metalic heeled boots could not be more on trend for a/w, celebs such as Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Sienna Miller all sporting the luxe look of a pewter boot.
Plus How perfect for christmas!!

Don't forget you could win a very amazing £100 to spend on any of these beauties or your own choice!
Tell me, what would you buy if you won?

Welcome to SHOETOBER (shoe #giveaway)

Welcome to SHOETOBER people, the month that i am officially making all about shoes!
As you all already know i love shoes of all shapes and styles, from flats to sky scrapper heels. Gimme a pretty shoe and i will be your BFF forever.
So this month I have joined up with 4 fantastic Shoe specialists to bring you an amazing shoe giveaway for each week of October  Shoetober.

Are you ready fellow shoe lovers?
So before i go on to today's Shoe Love, i just wanted to talk briefly about this coat.
After asking the question of pretty peachy pink or camel on Instagram (here) & on twitter here, the lovely social people answered. Lots of people said go for the pink, some said the camel. My heart said pink and fluffy, my sensible head said sensible camel.
Completely confused I turned to my dear hubby and with very good rationale we came to the conclusion that camel colour would be more practical for me and my wardrobe (i wear a lot of reds! which just wouldn't go with the peach)
I'm still totally longing for the coral peachy pink fluffy coat (it was SO pretty!!) but i am super pleased with my new camel coat also. The quality is fantastic and the fit is lovely. I can see me and this coat having a winter long love affair.... (unless i convince my hubby to buy me the pink peachy one too, then i may have to have the occasional fling with it ;)

Today i opted for a little Parisan- esque chic. Breton top, simple black skirt and some tan accessories in the shape of a great (rather large) bag and what shall be known from now on as the most-comfy-loafers-ever-ever (also known as The Neo Tan Leather Loafer from the lovely people at  Lotus Shoes , i just can't resist any shoe with my son's name in it!! can you blame me?)
before i move on to the shoe thing, 'cos it is Shoetober, I have to mention my problem with skater skirts. Does anyone else like the style of them, but dislike wearing them?  I don't know, i just feel like i could potentially expose myself at any point in it, bend over, gust of wind and Bam! Some innocent passer by gets an eye full.. I feel a little bit of a liability in a skater style skirt.. Anyone else? Just me maybe?

Oh these shoes... they are exactly what i wanted from a tan loafer. I've worn them so much already and i am looking forward to wearing them with tights and dresses through the winter also. They are just great for throwing on for the school run,/shopping/lunch out or anything else where you just want a smart comfy shoe. Do you remember in the summer where i got a nasty infection from wearing in some new shoes? Since then my poor tootsies have been rather delicate when it comes to wearing in shoes and i have to wear new shoes in for short periods at a time, well prepared with plasters and spare shoes at all times.
Well Not with these loafers! uh -uh!! Lotus Shoes have made such a soft comfy shoe that even my delicate feet can wear them all day without hurting. And let me tell you, my tootsies are pleased as punch with this!
Want to win a pair of Lotus shoes like these or even a pair of your choice? Well my friends, you are in luck!

Mint, Nude and Cupcake Jeans (Yep, cupcake is a colour)

Today i am dressing for Spring regardless of the fact its grey and rainy and cold, thank god for dreamy pastel knitwear like this super old minty sweater. I have had this about 3 years and hardly ever wear it, shame on me! But today was it's day, keeping me warm against the chilly weather but remaining still lovely and colourful.
And these jeans are juuusstt dreamy, they are from the lovely people at Great Plains who recently allowed me to pick a piece from their spring collection, i went for these wonderful jeans in the colour cupcake! how cool is that? The colour cupcake is so yummy i could literally eat it, with faded edges, vibrant colour and lots of stretch these are my new favourite jeans and are packed to come with us on our little family holiday this week to Cornwall.. i can't wait!
Have you seen the gorgeous new collection at Great Plains, I'm crushing on the Tuscany Dress, can you imagine this dress in summer, sunglasses on, cocktail in hand... dreamy!

Cupcake Jeans: c/o Great Plains
Mint Sweater: F&F (very old)
Bow Trench: Next (very old)
Mint Bag: Modcloth (old)
Nude Shoes: c/o Lotus

So whats your thoughts on coloured jeans? Do you love or loathe? And what colours are you craving? I am after a parma violet/lilac pair next! I find they are perfect for British springs..cold yet still colourful!

Sidenote: My feet have been a little out of action lately after a blister turned naassty and went all infected on me from wearing-in some pretty new shoes (#fbloggerproblems...jeez!) i'm on antibiotics and it looks like they don't have to amputate(lol)
So here just put these nude heels on for photos, i have been a flipflop walking disaster for 4days! I have just discovered blister plasters too (tmi, teehee ) so they are helping to ease myself back in to full on actual shoes.
But fellow #fbloggers let this be a a lesson i have learned for us all;
Do not go for a 4 mile walk in pretty new shoes.

Red and Black

Black and red is probably one of my fave combos this autumn/winter. I am a girl who loves red all year long, but with more black than ever being added to my wardrobe, its making for lots of easy to wear remixability (is-that-even-a-word?)I've loved this window pane, type pattern thats been gracing everything from sweaters to trousers. I've wanted something in the white and black print for a while, but this one took my fancy big time and it is so so comfy and warm and cosy to boot..plus plus in books!

I totally need to get a new black fedora type hat, i've flattened this one way too many times and its gone reeeally misshapen, but its been well worn i have to admit, its time for a new upgrade. Rachel The Hat needs a new Hat! Have you seen a good ones around of late?
I recently picked this sweater dress and long-line biker jacket out from the wonder that is Sheinside, that site literally has so so many amazing (really well priced) pieces, its like blogger/clothes collectors heaven.. talk about bad for the old bank account...eek!!

Isn't autumn just looking beautiful lately?! I have to admit i am already getting Christmas excited, but restraining myself till Dec 1st! Plus with my birthday next week (arghh) i feel like December could be a really fun month, i can't wait! Do you have any great plans for the coming cold month? I would love to go to the Winter Wonderland in Cardiff to go outdoor  ice skating and take Neo to see Father Christmas and then we have our works Christmas doo which we are getting all dressed up for and drinking champagne! I can't wait! I LOVE this time of year, im like a giant kid!! I've already drunk my weight in Christmas coffees and hot chocolates (yup ive tried each and every one!!) and i'm going to make sure i soak up every moment of this wonderful season. Taking the moments in and enjoying every single second!

Faux leather skirt as day wear & Passion For Fashion Link Up!!

This season i am loving faux leather. Its the edginess it brings to an outfit, the luxe feel and the remix-ability of it that seems to get me purchasing more and more pieces. Take this faux leather mini skirt. It is definitely something i would normally shy away from (massively) in the past, but with the new me trying different pieces this little skirt made it in to my faux leather collection, and im super glad it did.
When i picked it up in Matalan, i took it to try on and asked myself "is it practical and will i wear it?" I mean its a faux leather skirt, where the heck do i go to wear something like this?! But after trying it on and finding it was a great fit i thought, heck, i'm going to try and make this work. So, i paired it with this quilted grey sweatshirt and my trusty biker boots for a relaxed daytime outfit. What d'you think, faux leather mini ok for day wear?

I have been a super lazy blogger this week (apologies for that!) My outfits have been very simple and basic this week. Nothing note worthy, but strangely i've been really happy in them. Simple black outfits have been my staple and i'm starting to become totally ok with this. I have given myself a hard time in the past, if my outfit hasn't had loads of interest with multiple layers and accessories and pattern mixing, i worry that i will appear less put together. But slowly i am learning to love a simple outfit. Today's outfit i wore (these photos were taken earlier this week, i was just lazy to post them!) was simple black skinny jeans, black knitted sweater, leopard scarf, brown biker jacket and brown boots. It was so super simple, but i loved it and was complimented on it. I guess what i'm trying to say (perhaps more to myself than to anyone else) is simple can be good. It can be chic and if you feel happy in an outfit then it shows.
Do you ever dress uber simple?
