Knitted Dresses (A girls best friend in winter)

Ladies, knit dresses are a girls best friend for winter. Well they're most certainly this girls best friend. But honestly, i can't recommend them enough.
So easy to wear and cosy and warm. like you've just rolled yourself in your duvet and called it an outfit.
I picked this khaki number up in Primark last week and its just the easiest thing to throw on and go.
Because of the length and its actually quite thick( for Primark)  i didn't wear tights, just some nice thick socks and my gorgeous new Steve Madden Biker Boots from Cloggs (which i looovvee by the way, be prepared to see them a whole lot, they're just perfect for going from dog walks to lunch to the school run!), meant i was toasty warm all day.
I was a little unsure about how clingy and figure hugging it would be on, which isn't really my thing- too many lumps and bumps need hiding.
If you're like me and like to hide a multitude of sins under your clothes (food babies, love handles, non-exercised limbs, you get the point) my advice regarding knit dresses is go for a chunky knit. The fine knit close fit dresses can be... well, clingy.
For me the chunkier knit the better the fit.

There are some fantastic options on the market this season, ranging in lengths and a plethora of gorgeous hues.  I'm in love with this one, colour, shape and length look fantastic.

I've been doing some knit dress research:
Take a gander at some of the most wonderful knitted dresses on the market:

I styled mine the simplest but most effective way i knew: Biker jacket, simple jewellery and a dash of leopard print! My favourite!
Speaking of leopard print, these Awesome leopard print bags are now on sale in the store here. I think i've found the perfect size leopard print bag. Plenty big enough for all my crap i carry around each day but can also be an oversized clutch too for a night out.
Multifunctional bags are quite simply, the best. I have a real thing for nice handbags this year and this is going up there in my top 3!

Outfit Details:
Steve Madden Denmark Boots: c/o Cloggs
Knitted Dress: Primark (similar)
Biker Jacket: New look
The Leopard Print Bag: Yosa
Marble necklace & Earrings
Berry Lip colour

How do you feel about knit dresses? Have you tried one yet this season?

Girls that wear Glasses...

Did you know?
I am as blind as a bat.
I am a constant contact lens wearer and have been for many years..
I have never enjoyed wearing my glasses, and therefore opted for contact lenses since the age of 18.
But this past week i have had super sore eyes. Sensitive, dry and generally a bit sad.
Sad eyes indeed.
Probably tiredness related due to the delightful sleep snatcher that is insomnia (damn you insomnia!!) But its gotten to the point where my vanity has been cast aside, the contacts came out and the glasses went on.
Now i say vanity because for me i just feel weird in glasses, they feel almost alien on my face like they shouldn't be there, I put this down to my super old glasses possibly? They just don't sit nicely on my face, making me feel all kinds of awkward.
Which got met thinking...What better way to re-introduce my face to frames?
Shopping for some nice new designer frames of course.
Shopping obviously makes everything better.
So where to start?
Inspiration is needed.

Taking inspiration from Pintrest  and i'm starting to like what i see. Ladies rocking glasses and looking so damn cool (not sure i'll ever look that cool.. with or without glasses for that matter)

I want to change my mindset of glasses from negative to positive, where i no longer feel like i don't want to wear them but that I will happily don my specs.
And lets face it my eyes will most definitely thank me for it.
I love the look of these Givency frames, which i think would make wearing glasses more pleasurable for me.

This is where i ask you lovely glasses wearing readers, do you have any excellent glasses advice?

Love your four eyed friend ;)

Seven on Sunday 0.6

I've had a lovely week with a family member who came to stay. We did lots of days out and lovely lunches so it's been a busy and fab week, but also it means its been lots of time away from my beloved internet.
It's always refreshing to have time away from this old keyboard and have your eyes opened to you surroundings once again.
So back to the grindstone this week for me, but its with refeshed vigour and enthusiasm, which is nice.

This week from around the world wide web i have been loving:

0.1 French connection. A brand i have been very partial to over the years, and this season they have some beauties, in  particular this shirt and in the all black too. I can see so much wear could be had from this style..

0.2 ..Particularly with these that i've just bought. I love a bit of faux leather.

0.3 Its getting cold here so its casserole season.. i've brought out the slow cooker and am currently looking for new recipes ( do you have any slow cooker recommendations?) I'm cooking this today.

0.4 Makeup this week has seen me set to my usual kit, but i'm on the look out for a new contour powder as mine i have at the moment is more of a summer bronzer. I've heard good things about this one, so may pop to get that tomorrow.

0.5 I love a good link up party and as well as hosting them i lvoe to join them. It's sucha  great way to find new blogs and inspiration and like minded lovely blogging ladies! Ann has just started one, which is brilliant. She showcases her style stories from her week, which i just love! Go join in if you can, its great to participate and support other bloggers.

0.6 As i mentioned in 0.3 its definitely getting chillier here, after a long stretch of some freakishly mild weather. Right now i'm all over the knitted dress. I have one from primark that i love, but I also have my eye on this one for a possible cheeky purchase this week.

0.7 I'm addicted to my Star Scarf, its been everywhere with me lately. Neutral in colour but my favourite print.. can see it being worn a lot this winter!

What have you been loving this week? Any suggestions for me?

Also vlog numbero duo is coming this week! I have some amazing questions from my lovely blogging friends. If you have anything you'd like to ask me, then feel free to leave a comment below and i will be answering them this week!

Happy week to you all!
Rxx

Ps.. most of my instgram pics this week appear to be of Cassy my dog. I apologise from the puppy spam.. i just can't help photographing my little buddy!

Instaoutfits 0.2 And #Passion4Fashion Linkup

Last month with trepidation, I brought to you my daily outfits from Instagram. Trepidatiously because they obviously aren't the usual type of photograph that this blog has become synonymous with.

However i thoroughly enjoy sharing my daily outfits on IG, the daily downs and the little outfit details from my run of the mill, average day to day life.
You see i still love getting dressed every morning (more so now that i don't have to wear a uniform any more, did you see yesterdays uniforms post?), so being able to share that makes me happy and also accountable to the point where i don't end up in joggers every day (as tempting as it is! They're just so damn comfy!)

Anyway I was so pleased that you guys liked seeing the daily outfits too!
So here i am with the September/October edition!
Last month's edition saw the end of summer, this month is all about autumnal threads.

Couple of favourites this month:

  • My grey Warehouse skirt (above and below). Now i think i would get some wear out of the tan too.
  • My Whistles Loop Shirt (4 photos down and blogged about it this week) has become a firm favourite.
  • And my simple but so so comfy Great Plains red &navy stripe top (2nd photo down) I can't stop wearing that top. I've remixed it with black, navy, grey and camel so far. Its just one of those no-brainer tops. You know those mornings where there's not a moment to think? Its definitely my top for those days (which i apparently have a lot of)!

Great plains have 20% off at the moment with the code: GPOCT20 so its a great time to pick up that lil something you may have had your eye on.. I already have of course....Patience was never my virtue. As soon as the sale started, my order was placed.
Snooze you lose is my motto when it comes to shopping. And i am no shopping loser ;)
This beauty will hopefully be winging its way to me this week! I know, I know.. MORE stripes?!
But yes. I love them. Not sorry ;)
Man, i'm sounding harsh.. Big talk from me today, think i've had one too many coffees . Shall be shaking in the corner by 3pm i'm sure.

What have you been loving and wearing this Autumn/Fall so far?
