Black &White Dress with a dash of Pink

 A quick post from me today as i've not a lot to say due to being poorly majority of my weekend (damn it!) and fighting fatigue as I type (can you hear that tiny violin lol...)
So just a simple dress outfit today folks. Black, white, pink annnndd done :)
Such an easy formula. This new dress is so easy to wear (and only £10 might i add!) I love the little vice-versa colour on the sleeves. I threw a blazer over this but it was warm enough to be without it. I can see a pair of flat black sandals and a denim jacket in this dresses future for a more relaxed summer outfit and then some thick black tights and boots and a colour pop coat for winter! Multi-seasonal, my favourite kind of piece.
THIS dress is also on my to-buy list..Stripes can do no wrong in my eyes!

 Actual Dress & Pink Shoes: Matalan
Pink Bag: Next
Blazer: Primark
Necklace: Yosa (shop launch soon!)

Sporting a Skort (&Passion4Fashion Link Up!)

The Skort.
A strange item that mixes a skirt and shorts together. Along with wanting to try a jumpsuit, skort is second on my list of 'Get out of your comfort zone, Rachel' (actual list). So i was super pleased when Debbie chose this skort as part of her F&F #frockswapuk bundle as it gave muggins here the chance to try before i buy in to the the whole skort trend.
And the verdict?
Well i guess the jury's still out on this one for me, I'm unsure.
On the pro side;
I enjoyed the practical option, being rather short i knew my modesty would be kept in tact (always a major plus point for me.. i've mentioned a few dozen times i am mrs clumsy, right?) but yet you do feel like you're wearing a mini skirt and therefore Mrs Fancypants.
On the con's;
It kinda gave me old lady arse. I carry a lot of junk in this trunk and the behind view was not to great, but i can deal with that. I don't have to see it haaha!
Husband also hated it. I don't really know why(old lady bottom possibly?), i think he felt he was being cheated by women some how, like this was a trick, just when he thought his wife had donned a cute mini skirt, she turns round and Nope! Actually big ol' shorts haha! (more fool him i say)
What do you think of Skorts? Have you tried them/it(?) out?

Green Maxi Dress

I kind of blended right in to my background here ..oopss.. camo at its best hey! haha!
I do not own enough green and yet it is one of my most favourite colours. This was decided way back in Junior school when Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys answered the 'get to know you' interview in my Smash Hits magazine. From then on green was also my most favourite colour, therefore making me and Nick totally MFEO (made for each other) haha. Funny, my crush for Nick Carter may have faded but my love for the colour green hasn't.
This cheap emerald green maxi was just too gorgeous to pass by, plus it's just like wearing a nighty all day long. Super comfort levels here people.
I've tried to get some wear out of it, even though it has not been the warmest of late, by adding my aztec little blazer to keep me from getting cold.
Plus i couldn't resist adding a pop of pink with my bag as green and pink have to be one of my all time favourite colour combinations.
In work today we were talking about how there is really not much point splurging lots of money on summer clothes here in the UK, when really they may only get warn 3-4 times! I am therefore making a conscious effort to try and wear summery nice clothes that are also transitional. Nice season appropriate pieces that i also wont freeze in. Maxi's and blazers seem to be my answer to that.
Oh to experience 4 proper seasons... !

Green Maxi dress (actual)~ Dorothy Perkins

How do you handle the weather where you are?
Do you struggle with summer clothes or are you lucky enough to have 4 proper seasons?

Off Duty

 In Friday's post i mentioned a little down time was needed, which is exactly what i've had. Granted i worked Saturday but i had a very chilled evening and so far a super chilled Sunday with lots of reading in the sunshine of my garden. And this outfit matches my chilled out, off duty type mood. Since I received this top, i have not stopped wearing it, it's the perfect spring time throw-it-on top. Breton tops never fail for me. Add to my chilled outfit, some aviators to hide the lack of eye makeup, some red lipstick to trick people into thinking i have actually made an effort and my new Leopard print slip-ons for ultimate comfort and i am done and done!

Jacket & Coated Jeans: New Look
Slip ons: Asos
