Blanket wrap casually styled with jeans and a blouse

My first post with my new lighter hair..
So long black hair, it was swell! But as they say; A change is as good as a rest, and the mood struck to finally do something about it. It's still darker than where i want to be colour wise, but its a good starting point for moving in to lighter shades.. Yay for change! I'm planning a full hair post for later this week, so keep an eye out for that if you're wondering about hair lightening!
So this weekend has been blissful, no work for me and lots of cuddles  with Neo and puppy Cassy, plenty of reading, way to much eating and lolling about, it was lovely (of course along with the obligatory, washing, ironing and general boring stuff).
As for outfits? Well it was casual all the way of course.. uggs were on and pj's mostly, but when clothes for called for i opted for simple, drapey and comfy. Perfect for returning this bum back to the sofa and wrapping up in a blanket. I think its just amazing that you can legitimately wear a blanket out and call it an outfit. Ladies fashion has come on leaps and bounds in regards to comfort hasn't it. Joggers are now fully accepted forms of day-wear and can even look super smart, trainers now look uber cool styled with smart trousers and blankets are now perfect for outerwear!
Don't you just love how fashion progresses.  Being a woman can sometimes be hard work (lord don't i know it!!) But sometimes i feel exceptionally proud and pleased to be a woman... yes i got all that from joggers and blanket wraps.. amazing what some r&r can do to a girls thoughts ;)

Is there a comfy trend that you have absolutely love?

Updating an Old Dress with a denim vest and statement necklace (&a BIG thankyou!)

I think i'm ever so slightly late to the game on the denim vest front. And by ever so slightly i mean years. I have seen bloggers rocking denim vests for as many summers as i've been doing this blogging malarkey (3 incidentally, in-case you were wondering). But as much as i appreciated them on others i never delved in on the vest front, purely because i thought it may have been unnecessary summer layers.
But since buying it there are 2 great things i have found:
1. when its slightly cooler you're happy for more layers, sleeveless it may be but the thick denim does act as a wind breaker, which is a good.
2. By layering the vest over all my old dresses i'm creating totally new outfits! Now i can get some extra mileage out of the many many dresses i own, all by chucking on a denim vest.
Who knew(not me evidently) vests could be so pleasing!
Plus i just got this one on mega sale for £5 here so i am super pleased.
I have a ton of dresses i can not wait to try remixing, however, even though i have lots of dresses that hasn't stopped me looking at some major crush worthy ones like this dress(so pretty), their aztec beauties would be perfect with ma new vest...swoon!
So are you a vest owner/wearer?
Do you get much mileage out of yours?

Green Maxi Dress

I kind of blended right in to my background here ..oopss.. camo at its best hey! haha!
I do not own enough green and yet it is one of my most favourite colours. This was decided way back in Junior school when Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys answered the 'get to know you' interview in my Smash Hits magazine. From then on green was also my most favourite colour, therefore making me and Nick totally MFEO (made for each other) haha. Funny, my crush for Nick Carter may have faded but my love for the colour green hasn't.
This cheap emerald green maxi was just too gorgeous to pass by, plus it's just like wearing a nighty all day long. Super comfort levels here people.
I've tried to get some wear out of it, even though it has not been the warmest of late, by adding my aztec little blazer to keep me from getting cold.
Plus i couldn't resist adding a pop of pink with my bag as green and pink have to be one of my all time favourite colour combinations.
In work today we were talking about how there is really not much point splurging lots of money on summer clothes here in the UK, when really they may only get warn 3-4 times! I am therefore making a conscious effort to try and wear summery nice clothes that are also transitional. Nice season appropriate pieces that i also wont freeze in. Maxi's and blazers seem to be my answer to that.
Oh to experience 4 proper seasons... !

Reverse Pink Lady

Happy long weekend everyone! Don't you just love bank holidays, a freebie extra day tagged on to the normally short weekend equals awesomeness! I motion that all weekends should be 3 days long.. how happy would everyone on this planet be if that were case.. I should be Prime Minister or world leader or something;
3 day weekends, free shoes for all and world peace of course. My theory is you give out free shoes and 3 day weekends, the world peace will just fall right in to place, right?! (if only huh!)
Anyway on to the outfit, the weather is just diabolical here in Wales at the moment...torrential rain and thunder storms is just no fun! Where is the beautiful sunshine when you need it huh?
So to perk myself up i wore lots of pinky colours and my favourite biker jacket which all kinda looked like a reverse Pink Lady to me, heehee! All finished of with a new statement necklace which may well be my new favourite, its extra sparkliness (even a word?) made me feel like a princess all day, i may even keep it on with my pj's for movie and games night tonight ;)

Can i just quickly touch on this bag, its just adorable and perfect. I've been after a fuchsia bright pink bag for a long time. I had the internal argument of big bag vs small bag for practicality reasons, especially as a mamma, i get to carry all sorts of crap around with me.
But this time i went for the small bag, a bag just for me, and i love it!!

What Makes a Good Outfit?

Let me ask you a question Ladies;
What makes a good outfit for you?
Its a funny old question, perhaps one that's answer changes regularly. But I've been thinking a lot about this lately. What makes a good outfit for me? What is 'stylish'?
Well for me of late I have been enjoying very very simple outfits, but with some key pieces and adding in lots of happiness.
Maybe that's the formula for a good outfit?
Take this simple blouse and jeans outfit. I debated on whether to post this every-day, run-of-the-mill outfit in fear that it may be a little, um, boring?  I mean you've all seen many a blogger wearing jeans and a blouse before, right?
So why post it. Well i guess because to me this is a happy little outfit and that is what i like to wear and share. Plus clothes are just that...clothes. Unless i started wearing trousers on my head and calling it a trend we will all have seen the same outfits over the years, no?
So what makes a good outfit? Something that makes you happy i reckon. What d'you think?

This spotty blouse has been my constant compadre the past week or so.Its been worn to do pretty much everything and anything.  Coffee with the besties, yep! Meetings and school run's, yep again. I just love how easy it is to throw on and feel good.
A few other little outfit-makers for me lately are:

A piece of statement jewellery; In this case my neon NewLook necklace has been on more times than its been off these past couple of months.
The perfect blouse; with a popped collar and a little front tuck, I think sometimes it's not what you wear but how you wear it?
Fit-like-a-glove-Jeans: When I find a pair of jeans that fit to perfection, they really make me feel a million bucks, or pounds rather, either way. When the fit is right everything just looks better.
Rayban Aviator sunglasses; these have hardly left my face since i laid my mitts on them, adding the finishing touch to any outfit
So there we have it. Simple things for me that make me happy and are my (current) definition of a good outfit.
