New hair doo, Faux leather joggers and Trainers

 I mentioned on Sunday's post that i'd had me hair done. Have lobbed off a fair few inches and gone back to my brunette roots (literally). From a year of bleaching it within an inch of its life it had begun to resemble a scouring pad and felt like one too. I would literally touch my own hair and be freaked out by how straw like it felt. Gone were my nicely conditioned locks.
So back to a nice warm brown and a lob style.
Now for me, and tell me if i'm wrong here, it felt like quite the change ( i shall refer you to my last outfit post for reference here), but IRL hardly anyone noticed! There I was casually flicking my hair in that 'hey look at my new doo' type way, and nada.
I even had to point it out to the hubby (bless, most intelligent man i've ever met, but alas, his observation skills are somewhat to be desired, which honestly, mostly plays in my favour when it comes to that new bag/shoes/dress.. well you get the point.)
When i pointed it out to Neo (my 5 year old son), he then realized and thought his mummy was changing it to someone else and asked if i could paint it back the colour it was.
Ok self indulged moan over.. I know, i know, the world doesn't revolve around this head of hair, but honestly i do wonder what it would take for anyone to notice.. a Brittany Spears circa 2007 possibly( i have a weird shaped head so that would never work)?
Its actually taken some time to get used to, the colour i love, but the length is kinda throwing me. I found it easy long, just throw the curling wand through it and bam, done.
But this length took some work and then i still threw a strop over it not looking how i wanted.
Anyway.. its just hair (its actually growing on me, 4 days in.. no pun intended)

Well.. trainers(or sneakers for my international buddies) What took me so long??
I freakin' love them. In fact i can't stop wearing them (see instagram for my daily trainer addiction) and now fear i need more.
I have the New Balance 420 in Black and grey and they go with so many outfits, and need i mention the comfort factor, no i need not, cos obvs.. they're trainers, its one step up from slippers.
But now from trainer virgin to trainer slut, I need more! I'm thinking colours too. First up a navy pair (with a hint of burgundy..ahh divine!!) would be ideal for jeans days and such, but also loving the idea of this orange pair and this green pair are on sale (love those green ones!). So yes. It took me a while to get to the trainers party, but i'm there now dancing my socks off in my comfy trainers.. oh yes.
So i paired it with my new bargain faux leather joggers and a grey wool maxi coat, which is basically like a dressing gown, and called it one hellova comfy outfit.

Styling Flared Jeans (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup!)

After last week, i think you can all appreciate my love for skinny jeans, ripped ones in particular. 

But i had an urge to try Flared jeans again. An itch that just had to be scratched. I had dabbled with a pair earlier in the year and just didn't get on with them: too low cut, not flared enough and too short. 

I put it down to a style fail rather than a whole complete fat fail. It was just finding the perfect fit that was proving as epic as the search for the holy -flippin'-grail. 

Rewind about 7 years and i had the most perfect flared jeans. Great length for wear with heels, nice cut and fit and generally a great jean. I wore them all the time, and i'm talking before flares were cool again here. I'm way ahead of the trend (which incidentally makes me completely off trend at the same time. Bother!) So these perfect flares were River Island and only to be ditched when i gained all the weight and i couldn't prise myself in to the poor things a moment longer.

So with hope i turned back to River Island. And man did they deliver!

I picked these Mid Wash slightly distressed(i love me some rippage.. even a word!?) flared jeans and bought without trying on, thinking i could always return them if it turned in to another flared fail. 

But i tried them on, styled them up, and freakin' loved them. Flares Forever i say!! Except on days when its raining cos soggy flares are just no fun.

I paired my new fancy flares with this new season Warehouse Summer Floral Blouse which is the same floral print as my favourite midi dress from earlier this year (they do the blouse in blue, like the dress too, which obvs, i now totally want too!) And i felt all warm and autumnally (seriously, what is up with my vocabulary today) 'cos quite frankly i've bored myself to tears with moaning about our crappy Biritsh Summer.. i mean being British you'd think i'd be used to perpetual rain and wind, even in the height of summer. But no, each year i act like i've never seen rain in summer and offended at how hard done by i am. Well not any more.

I'm just going to full on embrace the new Autumn/ Winter collections to make my ordeal a lot easier!

Palazzos &Passion4Fashion Linkup

Have you ever tried something on and thought no, just no. Thats me with this outfit. Its wierd, i like each piece but not together..and not on me. Just no. 

But God loves a trier and trying i certainly am ;) 

The palazzo trend is everywhere right now, so much so i obviously got suckered in to try. But it just isn't for me. I have seen them on others and they look uhmazing (possibly why i bought them) but i think they just do nothing for me. We took these photos and in true diva style, i viewed them and just shouted to my poor husband across the room 

"NO! No no no. It's just all wrong. WRONG i tell you" then threw myself face down on the sofa and claimed that life was so unfair.. 

Ok maybe i didn't do that (i'm not that bad i promise). But we both did look at each and there was an agreeance that perhaps these weren't for me. It could be my pear shape body, and my blatantly putting a big old flag like pair of trousers on, just emphasises my larger points. I dunno.

But everyday's a school day ladies, and today is the day i learned that patterned palazzo's are just not for me.

I also didn't feel very me in them. I've been in to simple, plain almost, outfits of late. Especially navy or black and white. So the overtly patterned trousers just felt like they were screaming at me, which i don't like when my clothes yell at me. It causes all kind of uncomfy-ness, for me and the trousers ;)

An Outfit for A Champagne Afternoon Tea

 For the past week i had been scouring the internet and my local stores for something to wear for a hen doo which was a champagne afternoon tea at the Beautiful Llanerch Vineyard. The Hen is one of my dearest friends and she always always looks stunning. But what do you wear to afternoon tea? And what's worse the weather is being all kind of crazy at the moment, to trouser or to dress..that was the question.
It just so happened it turned out to be an absolute glorious sunny mild day.
So after the hairdressers i had an hour to find something at my local shops, and this beautiful River Island dress was on sale( you can keep an eye on the latest sales at River Island here which is a big help!).

I had actually swooned after this baby when it was full price. The kimono sleeves are ticking some major style boxes and also dress it down making it easy to wear in the day time. Granted i didn't realise how short it was in the changing room, but at least its slightly longer at the back, making it ok for even a tall gal like me.
I added in my new mules, again a great day shoe for when you want a heel but a skinny stiletto heel is just too dressy,  a pop of orange with my Fossil bag which was tied together nicely with this yosa necklace. After over a week of stressing about what to wear, i was actually really pleased with this last minute option.
Normally when i panic purchase it usually ends up in the never-to-be-worn-gain pile. But this time i think i did good.

Perfect Jacket Weather: Lust List

The thing i love about this time of year is that its the perfect time to pull out all the jackets and blazers. Through winter i do love me some coats, and as the weather gets nicer its all about the blazers and light weight jackets. I love a simple basic top, jeans and a great jacket thrown on top, simple easy and pretty much my everyday routine. As i simplify my wardrobe i seem to add more jackets..go figure?! lol!
So as you can imagine i have been doing a lot of window shopping over the past couple of weeks looking for the perfect additions to add to my jacket collection, there are just so many good options. So i thought i'd break it down; Neutrals, Stripes which are practically a neautral in my book, and statement... strap in folks here goes:

First up the neutrals

 Classic Mac 

Denim Trench

I've said it before and i will say it (probably many more times) again, every girl should own a great classic mac/trench. Perfect for all seasons, goes with everything and makes you look pulled together in an instant. The above classic trench was made for breton tops and tailored trousers to channel parisian chic. 

The denim trench is a great modern twist on a classic, plus extra style points for double denim;)

River Island Beige Cropped Trench 

I recently invested in a navy trench (worn here and here ) and i love love love it, again classic and goes well with so much, super easy and simple to wear. 

I am currently crushing on the River island beige cropped trench, i can just imagine wearing it with some ripped skinny jeans and a white cold shoulder top.. think this needs to be mine!

 Zara Striped jacket and Zara green and cream 

The black and white striped blazer is the perfect amount of stripes, plus its velour meaning super comfort levels and great amounts of possibilities. The green and cream stripe in a sort of boucle adds an interesting twist to the usual stripe, i've been looking at adding a bit of green to my wardrobe (random thought i know) and this looks lovely.

Waterfall style jacket or a structured box blazer, one more easy going the other more formal. Either way stripey perfection.

Next up is the more colourful statement jacket. 

I love easy but great outfits, you know the ones that pack a punch, all by just adding on a stonking ggorgeous show stealing jackets. The choices are wide and varied, from abstract prints, to aztec, take a look

Pinks and reds are always on my lust list, these are great for adding some colour in to neutral outfit.

Beaded, fringed and embroided, Aztec is always a great summer choice.  These two Mango beauties are gorgeous,uugghh i think i want both. Ripped jeans a little cami and one of these jackets could be perfection.

The Wild Cards
What's a lust list without a few wild cards thrown in for good measure... River Island is on point with their jackets this season. All of the below are RI and i have to say i really love them all. Particularly crushing  on the embellished long kimono, the whole outfit and styling is gorgeous... If i were to part with my cash could this be the one? My problem is i just can't decide!
