Biker Jeans with Black, Red & Mint

In my last post i mentioned how summer dresses are my simple summer style staple (lot of S's there, nice bit of alteration on a Friday morning ;)
Well i decided to totally contradict myself and throw some jeans on today.
I guess I just really wanted to wear these new biker jeans that i recently bought on a quick Primark trip. I have been after a pair of biker jeans for a while. Having become well acquainted with my patch jeans (which, fyi i've owned for 5 months now and we're still going strong.. it think it might be serious..) but to give those jeans a breather and fancying a darker pair these Primark jeans jumped out at me. Great for the new season, will look cool with boots and with a very small price tag, i was willing to give them a go. They are quite good quality for Primark, weirdly my main bug bear with them is the exceptionally large front pocket liner.. you can see them can't you through the jean?! Kind of all lumpy and bumpy where i don't need lumps and bumps added if ya know what i mean.
I don't ever even use my front jeans pockets (does any one, girl wise? i know men do, but ladies, do you use your jeans pockets?)
But that's minor on the greater jeans scheme, and i can live with it I suppose, i'll just keep ramming my hands in my pockets to smooth them down i guess.
Does any one else shop in Primark(or another low price store) like a mad woman.. i mostly detest the place and do a mad supermarket sweep like motion when i'm in there, like i'm on a timer.
I give myself 15mins to get in, shop and out.
This time was fruitful for me with a maxi dress for £3, a drop waist dress for £8 and these jeans and black top.. My first Primark success in a long time!
I find myself buying more and more basics lately. I guess that's because i'm really digging great accessories for obvious reasons, heehee ;)
I'm just loving a simple tee and a great necklace. Going back to the ease of dressing is very refreshing.

Also my son (Neo) has apparently seen me pose for outfit photos waaay to many times. The boy wanted to join in today.
Making in his statement in his favourite tshirt, handpicked by himself(a gorilla and a dinosaur on a tshirt..every 3 year old boys dream apparently?) and camo shorts.. oh to be 3 nearly 4 again;)

FLORAL SWING DRESS for simple summer style

One of the things i truly love about summer (when we actually get it here in the UK that is) is simple style. The fact you can just throw a dress and some heels on and call it an outfit. Winter becomes a little more complicated in the fact of its, hats, scarves, coats, tights, boots, and well you get my point.
Here is the perfect example of lovely summer easiness..
Dress+Heels+Statement Necklace= DONE!
Easy huh! Summer simplicity.  This is probably the reason i have A LOT of dresses... that and well, you know, you can never have too many dresses, right?

This Milanoo swing dress is so comfy.. i've also established this summer i love a swing dress.. this i did not know previously. They're just so pretty and comfy and can hide a food baby like no other!
I think after wearing maternity wear, which was all 'swing' style or rather more like a giant tent covering in my case (have i ever mentioned, i was the size of a whale when i was pregnant.. an 8lb9oz baby will make me look like a sea mammal apparently, i didn't have a pretty little bump i carried that baby everywhere!!! totes worth it of course..) I was kind of put off for a long time on the style, but nope i am loving the easy going style.
Apparently i am all about the easy-going nature of things lately... can you tell i'm tired.. easy seems to be my life line right now. I'm one step away from walking outside in pj's it seems.
Least swing dresses look like i made the effort and for that i will be eternally grateful.

Updating an Old Dress with a denim vest and statement necklace (&a BIG thankyou!)

I think i'm ever so slightly late to the game on the denim vest front. And by ever so slightly i mean years. I have seen bloggers rocking denim vests for as many summers as i've been doing this blogging malarkey (3 incidentally, in-case you were wondering). But as much as i appreciated them on others i never delved in on the vest front, purely because i thought it may have been unnecessary summer layers.
But since buying it there are 2 great things i have found:
1. when its slightly cooler you're happy for more layers, sleeveless it may be but the thick denim does act as a wind breaker, which is a good.
2. By layering the vest over all my old dresses i'm creating totally new outfits! Now i can get some extra mileage out of the many many dresses i own, all by chucking on a denim vest.
Who knew(not me evidently) vests could be so pleasing!
Plus i just got this one on mega sale for £5 here so i am super pleased.
I have a ton of dresses i can not wait to try remixing, however, even though i have lots of dresses that hasn't stopped me looking at some major crush worthy ones like this dress(so pretty), their aztec beauties would be perfect with ma new vest...swoon!
So are you a vest owner/wearer?
Do you get much mileage out of yours?

Big Announcement...

Ok, where to start...
So you may or may not have noticed that i have been crediting a lot of the jewellery that i've been wearing to a company called Yosa. Well today i would love to formerly introduce you to yosa and it's owner!
Yep, that would be me!

You see i wanted to start something that i love.
Yosa is my new baby (not neglecting RTH blog here of course.. this will always be my baby!)
As you all know I am a huge lover of accessories, i wear them every day as you can see from my day to day blog posts.
I absolutely adore great jewellery and how it can change up any outfit and make it just pop!
So i have curated a collection of beautiful accessories that i love and hope that you will love too.
Here are a few pieces that you may have spotted on the blog and are now available at Yosa.

A personal favourite of mine Teal Petal Collar

Another of my favourites The Tough Cuff

These are just a few examples of some the pieces Yosa has on offer.
Yosa currently stocks necklaces, earrings, bracelets, scarves and coming soon will be Clutch bags (so excited for those!)
I am already curating an autumn/winter range which will include sparkles for Christmas (eek!!) and they will all be coming very very soon.

I absolutely love you all for all the support you have given me here at Rachel The Hat, i can't wait to share this new experience with you all and i hope you will pop on over to Yosa and consider us for your accessory needs.

You can read all about Yosa here and over the coming months i will be sharing some exciting news and fun tid-bits, including info on our monthly Yosa Cover Girl opportunity.
I want to get you all involved as much as possible! :)
I hope you're all ready to come on the ride with me??
If you want to keep up with more info i would love if you follow along with us on twitter here and we will be sure to follow you too!

Of course nothing will change here on RTH i will still be posting 3 times a week as usual, but with perhaps a little chat about Yosa here and there.

So on that note i would love to leave you with a fabulous give-away!
