Sometimes a girl just needs some red stilettos

After a long week of work and being full up with a nasty cold, i literally felt like rubbish by Sunday. So what does a girl do when she feels like rubbish? She dons her most favourite pair of bright red heels of course. I mean look at them, aren't they beautiful. Life altering they may not be, but they sure do put a smile on my face;)
Also adding in to the mix, by beloved faux leather trousers that add a little sass in to my step, and my beautiful new coat from Elite Fashion 99.. beautiful new coats also make everything better. They have an amazing selection, i'm totally crushing on this beautiful coat for spring.. pastel perfection and also price perfection too.. coats  and clothes well within my budget get a huge thumbs up from me.
This coat though is the same style that i have pinned on my pintrest inspiration boards for ages. So now its all mine *cue evil laugh* and its just wonderful. I love love love it. Did i need another new coat? No.. Do i care.. also no.. ;)
Coats are fast becoming an obsession of mine. A whole outfit can be planned around a coat. I think i've mentioned this before as i'm having the strangest feeling of deja-vu.. Lets just say my heads still rather foggy from all the yucky cold and for now i'll stop talking and lets just swoon of those heels again shall we?
Swwwooooon.

How to Wear Faux Leather Leggings (& SHOETOBER DANIEL FOOTWEAR #GIVEAWAY!!!)

A little after dark look today and trying out the love-them-or-hate-them faux leather leggings.
Last year i invested in a great pair of coated skinny jeans and pretty much lived in them year round, i just love the edginess they bring to the outfit that skinny jeans just don't do. So this year i stepped up on the faux leather front and tried these faux leather leggings. To be honest,it took some courage for me to walk out in them as i felt more than a little self conscious because they show off, uh... everything. But they got a big thumbs up from the hubs so if anything they are husband pleasers, haha!
Wearing them reminded me of when Sandy rocks up in her lycra at the end of Grease, they made me feel like i wanted to break out in song, lol!
Couple of note worthy points for wearing faux leather leggings:

  • They show off every curve. Beware that you will feel slightly naked on your bottom half, they are very figure hugging, but because they are thicker than a normal fabric legging they can be quite flattering(ie they hide cellulite well;)
  • If trying for the first time wear a long top or tunic. I wish mine was longer at the front, i think i would have felt more comfortable. I was happy with the low part at the back of my blouse as it covered my (more than) ample booty, but longer both back and front would be a great place to start with faux leather leggings.
  • Try on before you buy. I thought i may have to size up, but no not the case. infact you don't want them to be baggy and saggy. Tight is actually right in this case. I actually tried on a great pair in New Look that were faux leather on the front and fabric on the back. These would be a great and comfy way to try the trend. I tried these on and they were actually really really nice on. I wish i had bought them but at the time I was feeling super daring and wanted to go the full faux lather hog.
  • One word.. camel toe. Avoid at all costs.. (i'm actually giggling whilst writing this, jeez, i'm such a child) due to the form fitting, clingy nature of the fabric, beware ;)
And that's it! So what are your thoughts on faux-leather leggings? Love or Loathe? Try or pass by? I am actually going to try them again but with an oversized big wooly knitted jumper. I quite like the idea of the textures together, plus a bit more covered up.

So the boots are back for Shoetober, woohoo!Oh how i love these studded funky boots!

Very Fancy Booties

Ever plan a whole outfit around a pair of shoes? That's exactly what i did with this outfit, worked from the bottom up. Nothing wrong with that i reckon, especially when the shoes are show stoppers like these babies!
These beautiful Daniel Footwear booties are the piece de resistance, i can see them being my fancy boot of choice all winter long. They will be great with super skinny jeans and even with tights for a night out. Studded entirely with silver round studs, they are just magnificent, i just couldn't stop looking down at my feet when i wore them and they most definitely put a spring in my step.
If you haven't figured out yet, i am very much a shoe gal.
I love shoes, always have, always will. After i had my son i kinda of stepped away from heels for a while and went to more practical shoes. But the past 12 months i have re found my love of heels and great shoes and have re built my collection. One can never have enough shoes right?!
Boots have been top of my agenda this month, wanting to gear myself up for the coming winter and these definitely tick the box.
As to the outfit i then matched up to the boots? Well the aztec skirt is a fairly recent purchase from New Look as is the boxy orange top but that was bought in the summer sale. Both bought on separate occasions but were like they were made for each other, love when that happens! I am very much looking forward to thick black tights and this skirt with a chunky knitted jumper through winter. But for now, we still have this freakishly warm weather to deal with so i dared to bare the legs again before hibernating them for winter;)

If you're wondering, this is the the Ancient Wonders Necklace which i currently am besotted with (for this week, haha it changes regularly)
If you're also wondering about my cray-cray hair i think it was channelling Diana Ross that day. There just seemed to be no taming it! Thank god for hats ;)

aren't they beeauutiful!
Skirt Hat & Top: New Look

So i have my fancy winter boots sorted i am now on the look out for  knee high boot or possibly over the knee?

Do you have your eye on any fabulous boots for this winter? Do share so i can go have a nosey and share your shoe love too!

Its the Accessories that make an Outfit

Lately i am all about simple outfits and adding in great accessories. I've been adding in lots of neutrals to my wardrobe - clothing wise, and then some major statements.
This is just a very simple skirt and top outfit that i really like, but by adding in the super statement necklace and the amazing bright red shoes it takes it to an even better version.
I am still definitely working on the whole buy less often but shop more classics thing, but i can see that is the road that i would like to be going down. This top is already seeing its second post in a matter of weeks as i just love it so much. The midi skirt is something i'm working on. I'm not much of a midi length wearer but its starting to grow on me.
So the sun is finally got his(her?) hat on this neck of the woods..yippeee! I am so happy.. lets all pray that it sticks around for a while, it really is a mood improver!
