Wearing A Poncho with Green and Neutrals

When i first saw this cable knit poncho it looked comfy, i thought it would be nice to perhaps just throw on around the house, like a wearable blanket i guess. Little did i know i would actually grow to love this perfect poncho. I throw it on all the time! Its snuggly and warm and i just love the look when paired with some skinny jeans and boots. Like my favourite gilet, the poncho is ideal for throwing on when you're just going from car to shop or car to cafe in this case.
These photos were taken just after Christmas when we had gone out for some fresh air and a Costa coffee. It was pretty late in the day and the light was diminishing fast making photos nigh on impossible, so please excuse the softness as they have been tweaked to high heaven haha! But i just wanted to share my new love of poncho's. Who would have known that these would have come back round!
Plus straight after Christmas the poncho is perfect for hiding those food babies and those pesky few pounds that have appeared around my midriff from all those choccies i consumed and the crackers, and cheese crisps, and christmas cake..opps)
Coincidentally i'm actually sat here right now wearing my poncho again.. its just so snuggly!! I actually caught my son wearing it in bed, fast asleep last night, he think a wearable blanket is awesome, and i have to say i agree with him!

Rainbow Legs

Hi Guys
Sorry about the absence over here lately, i feel like i'm stretched sooooo thin lately that i am sure to snap soon! But we're all the same aren't we. So much to do so little time! So i thought i'd share with you this post i did for Kym recently and totally forgot to tell you about.. Its a great mix of some of my favourite outfits over the last few months.
I'll be back as soon as this torrential rain stops and i can find a spare 5 minutes to strike a pose, heehee!

So, Winter! The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of autumn and winter is tights. That may seem a little weird, most people probably think of cosy knits and scarves and coats but for me, it's tights.
I mean I really love tights! I feel naked without them, and as much as I like warmer bare naked legged summers, I have to admit I am more in love with dressing for winter! I know some would call that CRAAZZYY! But i just love the layers and cuddliness (just making up words right there!)
Tights for me are so practical, they make remixing my rather large collection of dresses so fun!
Here's a peek in to some I've been wearing of late:

GREEN
 Great with other jewel colours

Fairly normal, run of the mill, basic but very handy
NAVY

ORANGE
Some may say tan overload i say, orange you glad you've seen these tights (hardy haha)

PURPLE
i have many a plan for purple tights, they go so well with many a colour

BLACK
black can be another normal easy peasy colour, but i like to jazz it up a bit with these  bad boys!

TURQUOISE
or as my family call it Smurf. This day i was known as Smurf legs

Brown
This rust shade is soo re-mixable, its the kind of colour that goes with blacks, browns and navys!

Oxblood
My favourite, although i like to call it WINE, sounds classier right?!

YELLOW
Last but by no means least, another current favourite, that jaundice look is so in right now....i joke!

So are you a coloured tights fan? I am looking to add some pinks and reds to my collection and then i think my rainbow is complete. I know some people are wary of trying colours on their legs, but i say go for it! A great way to ease yourself in to colour is to try a pair with knee high boots, add a knee length skirt/dress and that way you will just get a glimpse of great colour when you move. I would love to see your coloured tights, if you have blogs with them, leave a link below and i'd love to check them out!!

Meet my new best friend

Hello lovelies, Nice weekend? Well we made it down to london and back with the 3 kiddos, and we're still all in one piece...just. I am shattered. I feel like i was on constant red alert as to make sure Neo, my crazy toddler son, wasn't trashing the joint. He did manage to kill a plant, jam 3 coffee coasters into the cd rack (and they are well and truly stuck) and turn the tv on and off about a Gajillion times!
But amongst all that there was lovely homemade Mediterranean food, playing football in the park and even a little afternoon snooze for me and hubs. Thank god they're relatives as we left their house like a bomb had gone off. But that's what families are for right??:D

Wanna meet my new Bestie?
Here she is... Mrs  Pretty Tea Dress.
I heart this dress!

*ahem, excuse blurry pic, but wanted to show you my flower brooch*

Dress: c/o Next
Cardi: New Look
Booties: Very (about 3 years ago)
Headband and brooch: Sunshine And Carousels

When next emailed me a wee while ago and allowed me to pick something from their site, let me tell you, i was like a kid let loose in a sweet shop.
This was my choice as it was something i probably wouldn't have gone in to the shop an purchased straight off, but i really liked it so thought this was the perfect opportunity! And oh my goodness, i have been wearing it at least once a week since i got it. Its super comfy and bright and cheerful and i have remixed it over jeans, with different cardi's,with leggings, flat shoes and knee high boots(not all at the same time i assure you!)
Its become my day time, casual but pretty, go to.  Since getting this i now have a tea dress thing. I seem to be zoning in on them when i window shop.
These booties, i like the look of, but my goodness gracious me, they are so un-comfy. I don't know why, but they cripple me. Every time i wear them out i always have a sneaky pair of flats on my person somewhere (or normally stashed in the car for feet emergency's!)

Anyway folks, i have rambled on for quite long enough so i will love you and leave you for now.
Wishing you all fabulous weeks!

"i'm a little bit country..."

That's what i felt like singing when i wore this outfit. Also Neo has gotten into the habbit of jumping on my leg to ride it like a horse (gee gee) which is all very country &western, except that makes me the horse not a cowgirl, bummer.
All this outfit is from Next including the boots which were from last year but last really really well, and are for sale again this year.

The belt is from a wonderful lady called Emily who runs a Vintage Etsy shop called  El Vintage.
She is the most lovely lady and made buying vintage from her a lovely experience.
I love my belt its 70's and is made of the most beautiful leather. I have also bought a funky 70's dress that i will show you soon.

My comfy boots that have lasted extremely well!

Headband, flower bracelet and necklace are all good ol' house of primark!

So discussion with hubs today
Me:"does this look ok?"
Hubs " Honestly?"
Me: "ye"
Hubs: "no, the colours clash, you look all wrong, but if thats the look you're going for..."
Me *stomps off *
What do you think? Honest opinions? Does this not go? Im all confused now?

I do love the skirt, it makes me want to swish! I have some more ideas planned with it, so will try and do another remix with it next week.

I did kinda of assumed that maxi's were summer outfits, but i love this! I have leggings on underneath to keep my little leggy's warm, but tights or knee high socks would be just as good. And i like the feeling of getting out of trousers but yet still feeling cosy? You know what i mean....? Possibly not as that is a bit of a ramble....

It's friday everyone, wooohooo! The weekend is on its way.. i'm off to hit the shops.. gunna get me a bottle of the rose variety for tonight so i can sit down, after the kiddies have all gone to bed, with my book and read till my heart desires... or until i fall asleep with my book on my chest and hair stuck to my face throwing some zzzzz. The later is more than likely.

Happy Weekend Everyone!!
