Anchors Aweigh

Monday already ay! Those weekends don't half fly by don't they!
Did you have a lovely weekend? We were at the in-laws and being 4 hours away from where we  live, the weather was warm and dry. ....Think i need to move!

Lemon Denim Jacket: Next
Red Anchor dress worn as top:(actual dress here )Tesco
Stripe Skirt: Primark
Clogs: Lotta from Stockholm
Headband and bag: NewLook

When i saw this anchor print dress in Tesco i really liked it, but it is a tad on the short side as a dress, so where there's a will there's a way i put it under a skirt. Plus with skinny jeans i think it will be nice too or leggings, so for a tenner, it was definitely worth a punt.
Just after we took these photos Neo managed to reach up, grab the camera of the side and drop it on the floor. I screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, which didn't help or stop the camera from crashing down. And then being a mean mummy i shouted at Neo and then sat in a strop! Truth be told i should have put it some where else... But man, that boy is like Stretch Armstrong, he can reach soooo far. Nothing is safe any more!! Thankfully the camera seems ok! We haven't gone to take proper photos again with it yet so keep everything crossed!
So there was my eventful Sunday evening.. how was yours?

Bugs Life

Hey Lovelies,
Monday has arrived way to quickly again. I've had the most wonderful weekend (Happy Mothers Day to all the american Mama's out there)
The thrifty gods must have been looking down on me as i have had a number of lovely finds, i think its thrifting karma. Friday i gave 3 huge bags away to my local charity shop, and in return i found some lovely cups, saucers, plates, gravy boat and casserole dish (vintage kitchen ware is my favourite!) and a couple of vintage broaches to add to the collection.
On top of visiting the charity shops and a huge car boot sale, we went to our favourite park, Margam Park, with the kids on Saturday and the weather was beautiful! We had an impromptu picnic with just some bits and bobs bought that morning and had a really lovely time. Not all my weekends are this lucky nice, normally it's housework and rain, so this was so refreshing to be out in the sun and thoroughly enjoying it. Its raining cats and dogs here today however!?!
So this is from yesterday

Cardi: Clothing at Tesco
Skirt: (old) Primark
Top: worn back to front: (old) Dorothy Perkins
Bag: Vintage
Necklace: on sale £2: New Look
Shoes: (old): Next
Cats Eye Sunglasses: Very

So this is all quite old as outfits go. I have issues with buying "summer" clothes as British weather is sooo temperamental. The amount of summers when we barely have any nice warm weather is the norm here. So when we do get this nice weather i become a bit clueless!
This top is supposed to be worn with the buttons down the back, but i cut the little tag off and turned it round to create a collared open buttoned type look. Think i actually prefer it this way as i was never keen on how it sat before.
And these glasses, oh how i love thee! I'm working on getting a pair of genuine vintage fabulous sunglasses, but these do me nicely for now!

Anyway back to the rat race today, food, dishes, laundry, all that wonderful stuff, and then work tomorrow... Oh the joys!!! Not to wish time away but roll on Friday ;)

Have yourselves a lovely week!!

Ps, The voting is still on-going, i'm in second place, currently 27 votes off the winner (which could all change), if you haven't yet, it would be marvellous if you could click and like!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

"i'm a little bit country..."

That's what i felt like singing when i wore this outfit. Also Neo has gotten into the habbit of jumping on my leg to ride it like a horse (gee gee) which is all very country &western, except that makes me the horse not a cowgirl, bummer.
All this outfit is from Next including the boots which were from last year but last really really well, and are for sale again this year.

The belt is from a wonderful lady called Emily who runs a Vintage Etsy shop called  El Vintage.
She is the most lovely lady and made buying vintage from her a lovely experience.
I love my belt its 70's and is made of the most beautiful leather. I have also bought a funky 70's dress that i will show you soon.

My comfy boots that have lasted extremely well!

Headband, flower bracelet and necklace are all good ol' house of primark!

So discussion with hubs today
Me:"does this look ok?"
Hubs " Honestly?"
Me: "ye"
Hubs: "no, the colours clash, you look all wrong, but if thats the look you're going for..."
Me *stomps off *
What do you think? Honest opinions? Does this not go? Im all confused now?

I do love the skirt, it makes me want to swish! I have some more ideas planned with it, so will try and do another remix with it next week.

I did kinda of assumed that maxi's were summer outfits, but i love this! I have leggings on underneath to keep my little leggy's warm, but tights or knee high socks would be just as good. And i like the feeling of getting out of trousers but yet still feeling cosy? You know what i mean....? Possibly not as that is a bit of a ramble....

It's friday everyone, wooohooo! The weekend is on its way.. i'm off to hit the shops.. gunna get me a bottle of the rose variety for tonight so i can sit down, after the kiddies have all gone to bed, with my book and read till my heart desires... or until i fall asleep with my book on my chest and hair stuck to my face throwing some zzzzz. The later is more than likely.

Happy Weekend Everyone!!
